What happens in Paradise Season 2, Episode 4?

In the fourth episode of Paradise Season 2, called ‘The Holiest Charge,’ Xavier and Annie embark on a dangerous journey. Sadly, Annie passes away while giving birth, and Xavier vows to care for their new baby.

The story begins with Link and his companions breaking camp and setting off in search of a specific bunker.

Okay, so the episode keeps jumping between two timelines. We see the very first baby being born down in the bunker, and then cut to Annie getting ready to have her kid right now. It’s a lot of back and forth!

Okay, so in the flashback, things get really intense when the pregnant woman needs an emergency C-section. It was so sweet to see President Cal right there with her through it all! Then, after the baby arrives, Redmond comes to see them, and he says this really hopeful thing to the little one – he tells the baby they’ll see the real sky someday. It totally feels like they’re secretly planning to finally leave the bunker, and it gave me chills!

Xavier finally agrees to drive Annie to the Colorado bunker, but he insists on finding Teri in Atlanta first.

The group sets off on their trip, and unexpectedly, the baby arrives while they’re at an old, deserted diner. Xavier receives assistance with the delivery from people living nearby, but complications arise when the placenta doesn’t come out naturally after the birth, despite the baby being healthy.

As Annie lay dying, she entrusted Xavier with something precious, calling it a “holy charge.” She also gave him a letter, asking him to deliver it to someone when that person came of age.

After burying Annie, Xavier travels to Atlanta with the baby. Meanwhile, Link’s team discovers the bunker.

Upon arriving, Xavier is met by a man who says he knows Teri and delivers the upsetting news that she has been taken.
