Beast Games Season 2 winner reveals why he hasn’t spent any of his $5.1m prize yet

Tyler Lucas, who won Season 2 of Beast Games and is known as Player 167, recently shared details about his time on the show. He talked about what it was like working with MrBeast and explained why he hasn’t claimed his $5.1 million prize money yet.

The final episode of MrBeast’s competition show premiered on Prime Video on Wednesday, February 25th. The last six contestants competed in a series of challenges for a chance to win a significant cash prize.

In the end, Tyler won after a final match against Cory Sims, who came in second place. While Cory didn’t win the top prize, he still received $17,133, which was more than the basic $1,000 participation prize given to all contestants.

Tyler, however, had a very different experience, winning one of the biggest prizes ever awarded on a reality TV show. Despite filming wrapping up between June and August of 2025, he recently told TopMob that he hasn’t spent any of the money yet.

Beast Games Season 2 winner Tyler Lucas on why he hasn’t touched $5.1 million prize

TopMob asked Tyler what he’d bought with his prize money, and he said he hadn’t purchased anything yet. He’s carefully planning to invest it to secure his children’s future.

Okay, so I just found out from Beast Games Season 2, Episode 7 that Tyler actually has a wife and two little kids! It also got me thinking – apparently, in the US, any money you win on a show like that isn’t considered a gift, so you have to pay taxes on it. Crazy, right?

Although Jeff Randall Allen, the first season winner, initially won $10 million, he received a little over $5 million after taxes. Tyler’s winnings will likely be reduced by around $2 million due to taxes as well.

Despite that, it’s still a significant amount of money, and Tyler is giving it careful consideration. He explained, “I’m working on a solid plan for how to invest it wisely.”

Once I figure out the best way to move forward, I’ll start putting those plans into action and decide what my family and I require. After everything is settled, Tyler mentioned he’ll plan some vacations and fun activities in the future.

Right now, I’m being cautious with my money and focusing on making smart choices. I really want to ensure my children have a secure future.

Player 167 talks MrBeast behind-the-scenes & Season 3 potential

During the interview, Tyler was also asked about his experiences with Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast, and if Jimmy was different in person than how he appears on camera.

Tyler described him as genuine and straightforward – exactly as people perceive him. He’s also a very humble and approachable person.

What truly stood out about him was his dedication to checking in with every contestant, taking the time to walk around and ensure they were all doing well.

He was incredibly dedicated and truly cared about the quality of his work. He consistently sought our feedback, wanting to know what we enjoyed and what could be improved.

It’s really refreshing to see him genuinely care about the people on the show and the work he does. It proves he’s a kind and down-to-earth person, and I feel lucky to have met him personally.

Tyler would definitely consider going back to Beast City if he got the chance. As a reminder, Jeff, who won before, came back for Season 2 of Beast Games, along with nine other players from the first season.

Jeff assisted his fellow players before deciding to remove himself from the competition during the cubes challenge, a move Tyler said he’d also consider if he were in the same situation on Beast Games Season 3.

He expressed deep gratitude to the Beast team, saying he’d be happy to help them with anything they needed in return.

Returning for a third season would be a fantastic chance to learn what it has in store, and then ideally, I could help someone else win, just like Jeff helped me.

I’d absolutely take that opportunity if it comes up, but if not, that’s okay. I’m grateful for the experience I’ve had, and I’m incredibly thankful to the entire Beast team.

If you’re as hooked on Beast Games as I am, you HAVE to check out what’s been happening with Players 173 and 152 – are they still a thing? Also, MrBeast is promising to fix a mistake from Season 2 in the next season, which is awesome. And seriously, I need to know what Player 148 actually did with that $1.8 million island he won! It’s wild.
