No Dragon Ball Character Will Ever Beat The Galactic Patrol’s Greatest Feat

The story of Dragon Ball starts on Earth, but quickly grows to include a vast multiverse full of potential. Goku and his fellow Z-Fighters have become Earth’s powerful defenders, ready to risk everything to protect it. However, threats have existed for millions of years, requiring a peacekeeping force. This responsibility has always fallen to the Galactic Patrol, a kind of space police led by the Galactic King, dedicated to safeguarding the Milky Way Galaxy.

Akira Toriyama first created the Galactic Patrol in his manga Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, which later became a backstory for Dragon Ball. In Dragon Ball, the Galactic Patrol is often seen through the eyes of Jaco, a somewhat timid officer. While they often seem less capable than the Z Fighters, the Galactic Patrol actually achieved a major victory long ago: they captured Planet-Eater Moro over ten million years ago – a feat that remains one of the most impressive in the entire Dragon Ball universe.

Dragon Ball Super’s Moro Is the Strongest During His First Arrest

The Dragon Ball series is known for its strong characters, but Planet-Eater Moro stands out as one of the most powerful. Moro is an ancient sorcerer who gains strength and magical power by consuming entire planets. He’s similar to Galactus, but with elements of Majin Buu, Cell, and Demon King Piccolo combined. Having devoured over 320 planets and the entire Iragi Star System, Moro then attacks the powerful Grand Supreme Kai and South Supreme Kai Gods with a barrage of comets.

Working with the Galactic Patrol, the Grand Supreme Kai used his abilities to contain Moro’s magical power. The Patrol then captured and imprisoned Moro for ten million years. However, no one within the Patrol was powerful enough to carry out his death sentence, so he remained imprisoned. Eventually, Moro recovered enough magic, weakening the Grand Supreme Kai’s seal, and allowing him to break free.

Some might see the Galactic Patrol as having failed, since they couldn’t finish off Moro, which ultimately allowed him to seek revenge. While Goku ultimately defeats Moro, it’s worth remembering that Moro was actually more powerful during his initial encounters with the Grand Supreme Kai and the Galactic Patrol.

Over ten million years ago, Moro was incredibly powerful, but his magic began to fade as he aged and didn’t have enough energy. While the Dragon Balls and absorbing others restored much of his strength, he wasn’t quite as powerful as he once was. Interestingly, the Galactic Patrol managed to capture Moro without Goku or Vegeta using their most powerful techniques – Perfected Ultra Instinct or Forced Spirit Fission. Without those abilities, Goku and Vegeta would have stood no chance against him.

Wow, it’s incredible to think about how new the Galactic Patrol was when they first dealt with Moro! Over ten million years ago, they were just getting started. And get this – during that first big fight with Moro, they only had about 38 members! Seriously, just 38 people took down a threat who’d already eaten countless planets. It’s mind-blowing! That victory really cemented the Galactic Patrol’s reputation – it’s the kind of achievement that builds absolute, unwavering trust, a true *Dragon Balllevel accomplishment for those guys.

The Galactic Patrol Is a Powerful Force Across the Universe

It’s hard to say exactly what would have happened if Moro hadn’t been stopped, but it’s likely the universe wouldn’t have survived to the events of Dragon Ball if he’d continued freely destroying planets. While capturing Moro was a huge win, the Galactic Patrol still works hard to keep the galaxy safe and peaceful. Interestingly, despite their successes, the Patrol is very careful when dealing with criminals. For example, they knew how much trouble Frieza and his army caused, but they felt powerless to challenge him.

The Galactic Patrol may have been going through changes during this time. Even though Frieza became much stronger after his resurrection in Dragon Ball Super, the Patrol still tried to stop him. They also focused on arresting lower-level criminals like Amond from the Turles Crusher Corps, as well as Geppuman, Gryll, and Watagash. While these cases weren’t as significant as the threat of Moro, they likely fell to Jaco because he was handling them, rather than a more powerful member like Merus.

The success of the Galactic Patrol often depends on the individual officers responding to a situation. However, the organization provides significant support, especially during large-scale crises like the one seen in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. One key advantage is their access to Hyperbolic Time Chambers, which allow the team to train much faster. While not as powerful as the one at the Lookout, these chambers are still a valuable resource.

The Galactic Patrol’s standard Gun and Stun Gun aren’t considered particularly powerful. However, the Stun Gun is specifically made to disable opponents who have power beyond Super Saiyan God. Repeated blasts from it could take down even a very powerful villain. As a last resort, the Galactic Patrol possesses an “Extinction Bomb” capable of destroying all life on a planet. While they would never want to use such a weapon, the option exists if absolutely necessary.

Is the Galactic Patrol Is Key to Black Frieza’s Defeat?

Although the Galactic Patrol hasn’t been central to the story since the Moro arc ended, Dragon Ball Super gave them a significant role during that event. Now feels like the right time to reintroduce them with a new, universe-level threat. The series has been subtly hinting at a larger galactic conflict ever since Black Frieza appeared, making this a natural progression for the story.

Black Frieza’s goals include conquering the entire multiverse and defeating the Zeno twins. Capturing him would be an even bigger achievement for the Galactic Patrol than arresting Moro, marking their greatest success ever. The Galactic Patrol realizes they can’t face Black Frieza alone, so they’re offering support to the Z-Fighters, like access to Hyperbolic Time Chambers and even training to achieve Ultra Instinct Sign.

The Galactic Patrol generally operates within the Milky Way Galaxy, but they could ask for help from police forces in other universes, such as Universe 11’s Pride Troopers. This kind of teamwork between universes is now crucial, especially after the threat of Black Frieza. The Patrol understands that Frieza won’t be the only danger to the entire multiverse, and they’re proactively preparing for future threats. The new movie, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, will show familiar heroes in a fresh way, and hopefully kick off even bigger adventures across the galaxy.
