Beast Games Season 2’s Monika reveals players’ major mistake after $500k coin bribe

Following the latest episode of Beast Games (Season 2, Episode 9), many viewers are wondering why no one asked Player 152, Monika, to reveal the gold coin she has. Monika has even mentioned this strange omission herself as the finale approaches.

Similar to the first season, the new season of the Prime Video competition show featured the risky ‘double-or-nothing’ gold coin. While returning contestant JC first won it, he later passed it on to Monika during a challenge involving a cube.

MrBeast really wanted the coin back, offering Monika money because if she flipped it correctly in the final round, the prize money would increase to $10 million. He finally convinced her to sell it to him for $500,000 in Season 2, Episode 8.

Even though Auguste, known as Player 173, realized what was happening, nobody ever directly challenged her or asked for proof she still possessed the coin. Monika thought this reluctance was odd, considering how much everyone already suspected something was wrong.

Monika & Auguste address gold coin mistake after $500k bribe twist

Monika recently told Auguste in a YouTube interview that she was surprised no one requested to see the gold coin that was allegedly offered as a bribe. She was reflecting on the confusion surrounding the incident.

It’s especially clear because of what Auguste mentioned on the podcast: the other players already had doubts about Monika while they were still in Beast City, even before the final challenge began.

Monika said she really wanted to keep the bribe a secret, but people suspected something right away.

Auguste explained that Nick was the one who first questioned why a particular person wasn’t being offered a bribe, and this initially raised some eyebrows.

We’re starting to understand what happened, though not with complete certainty. He figured out parts of the story, with help from others, and everything is beginning to fall into place.

Auguste wondered if Monika realized they had figured it out by the time they got to the phone challenge. She responded, “To be honest, I suspected you all knew even when we were flying to Saudi Arabia.”

What really surprised her was that no one, at any point after they divided the money and started playing the phone game, ever asked to see the coin.

She confessed she likely would have hidden it if they’d asked, claiming it was in her suitcase. Still, it’s surprising no one asked to see her luggage, considering how much was on the line during the competition.

Beast Games Season 2 Episode 9 reignites coin debate

Okay, so after watching the latest episode of Beast Games – Season 2, Episode 9 – I started thinking about something one viewer pointed out on Reddit. They were asking why nobody ever asked to see the coin! It seems so obvious now, but during the game, no one actually verified what was on it. It’s got me wondering how much that could have changed things!

If I’d thought she sold it, that’s the first question I would have asked. She still has her coin purse – she’s always carried it with her. It all just seems straightforward.

Someone else was upset that Auguste didn’t mention the situation to anyone besides Kady. However, another fan noted that Auguste had addressed it in the comments section of his YouTube video.

According to him, Nick figured it out, which means Jack and Tyler were likely in on it as well. That leaves Brett, Corey, and Hannah as the only ones who might not have known.

He had the option of speaking with them privately, away from the cameras. Since we didn’t see Nick and Auguste discuss it on screen, it’s likely other conversations were also left out of the final edit.

He might also have been reluctant to discuss it with Kady and Hannah, since they’re close to Monika and might not have believed his story.

Another person agreed, saying they had the same thought and would have wanted evidence if they were in Auguste’s position.

Someone else mentioned that when everyone came together for the final round, it was the ideal time to ask her to reveal the coin and prove she still possessed it.

It never occurred to anyone to consider that. And apparently, Nick was credited with discovering that Monika had sold the coin… but he didn’t seem bothered by it.

It’s possible this situation will influence Nick’s decision, which was hinted at in the Season 2 finale. He currently has the final say on who will be the sixth finalist, and Monika and Brett are the two leading candidates.

I’m seriously counting down the days until Beast Games Season 2 Episode 10 hits Prime Video on February 25th! While we wait, I’ve been checking out what Player 148 did with the $1.8 million he won, learning why Player 21 had to drop out, and seeing who everyone’s betting on to take home the win this season.
