As a seasoned researcher with a deep interest in the crypto space, I’m particularly excited about BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes’ new Bitcoin Grant Program launched by his investment fund Maelstrom. With my background in blockchain technology and understanding of its potential, I believe this initiative will significantly foster innovation and development within the Bitcoin community.

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, recently unveiled Maelstrom Investments’ Bitcoin Grant Program. This initiative is designed to foster the technological advancement of the leading blockchain network, Bitcoin. The program will prioritize projects aimed at enhancing Bitcoin’s resilience, scalability, resistance to censorship, and privacy features.

Maelstrom declares on its main site that it will aid Bitcoin developers and advocates for a clear and public funding mechanism.

Bitcoin Grant Program to Foster Innovation

Applicants will receive grants worth between $50,000 and $150,000, dispersed over a year in equal monthly installments. The payments can be made in Bitcoin (BTC), Circle’s US Dollar Coin (USDC), or Tether’s US Dollar Tether (USDT).

As a passionate crypto investor, I believe it’s essential for us to actively participate in Bitcoin’s technological growth. One way we can do this is by getting involved with Bitcoin Core. We can contribute by submitting pull requests or conducting code reviews. Maelstrom recently announced this opportunity, making it an exciting time for those of us who want to make a difference and help shape the future of Bitcoin.

Maelstrom, similar to other businesses in our industry, benefits from the contributions of open-source Bitcoin programmers. Consequently, we’re committed to returning the favor and making charitable donations to support the development of this crucial Bitcoin technology.

Applications need to be handed in by August 25. Grants are expected to be disbursed during the third or fourth quarter of the year. Although multiple applications can be lodged, the annual limit for grants is set at $250,000.

Along with Hayes, the grant review committee will comprise of Jonathan Bier, the Chief Investment Officer at Farside Investors based in London, who will assume the role of Grant Program Administrator.

Hayes, who serves as the Chief Investment Officer of Maelstrom, tweeted,

As a devoted follower of Satoshi Nakamoto’s vision, I’m thrilled to announce the Maelstrom Fund’s Bitcoin Developer Grant Program. We’re committed to advancing the bitcoin ecosystem and spreading its reach.

Maelstrom’s Features Pendle Finance, Elixir, and More

The Chief Investment Officer at Maelstrom has recently added Pendle Finance to their investment portfolio. This innovative platform allows users to convert future income into tokens for trading. Notably, it has received strong support from industry expert Hayes, who considers it a pivotal derivatives exchange.

As a researcher examining the crypto investment fund’s diverse portfolio, I discovered that it includes the Bitcoin trading application Oyl and the modular network project Elixir. Additionally, I came across my role as a founding advisor for the synthetic dollar protocol Ethena.
