A wine bar in New York City did something different for Valentine’s Day: they let customers go on dates with artificial intelligence companions.
Okay, so Valentine’s Day is all about love, right? Well, this one bar is doing something wild – they’re letting people go on dates even if they don’t have a date! Basically, you can still celebrate, even if you’re flying solo. It’s a pretty cool idea, honestly.
Participants were invited to interact with the AI on their phones as if it were a real person – they could chat, flirt, and even share a meal with it, though the AI didn’t actually eat!
New York bar hosts AI date night
The event was held at Same Same Wine Bar in Hell’s Kitchen and was a partnership with EVA AI Cafe. Over two days, people could meet their AI companion – either one they already had or a new one – in person.
EVA AI Cafe is bringing digital relationships to life by creating a real-world dating experience. This Valentine’s Day, they’re opening the world’s first cafe where you can go on a date with your AI companion – turning what was once science fiction into reality.

The event space wasn’t set up like a typical tech demo; instead, it felt like a cozy date night. The team explained they used dim lights, gentle music, and a comfortable cafe setting to make the experience of interacting with the AI truly memorable.
Even if you didn’t have an AI assistant before, you could still participate. EVA AI provided one for you! At the event, you could connect with your AI companion using EVA’s new live voice chat – a unique way to interact with AI in real-time.
The event took place on February 11th and 12th from 5 PM to 9 PM. Inside the bar, patrons were seated at tables, each with a phone displayed on a stand in front of them.
Each station featured headphones so guests could have private chats with the AI, while enjoying food and drinks all evening. However, the conversation was mostly just the AI talking!
