We’ve seen a lot of questionable decisions on this show – like the ‘Miami Girl,’ Rachella, and Jax’s incredibly bad choices – but the conversation between Kim and Marcus was unbelievably foolish. Kim claims she stopped taking birth control because she’s forgetful, but there are plenty of solutions for that! Options like IUDs, implants, diaphragms, or even condoms all exist. They aren’t perfect, but none of them are as risky as getting pregnant with Marcus’s baby and being stuck with him forever.
The entire conversation is incredibly confusing. Kim insists they aren’t trying for a baby, but Marcus responds by saying they aren’t not trying. He’s right – if you’re having sex and not actively preventing pregnancy, you are, for all intents and purposes, trying to conceive. This is going to be a huge mistake, especially since Kim believes Marcus is on board with getting pregnant, and she’s hoping a positive pregnancy test will change everything. However, Marcus ends up scheduling an appointment at Planned Parenthood. Throughout all of this, Kim claims they aren’t ready, but implies Marcus wants a baby. What she really means is she wished Marcus had gotten her pregnant three months ago so she could already be planning a baby shower.
Kim has revealed her plans: she wants to be engaged in a year and a half, married within two years, and start a family around that time. It makes you wonder if she’s rushing into this to secure Marcus. He claims he’s ready, pointing out that his friends back in Indiana all have large families. But Indiana is a lot different than where they live now! Life is expensive, and their jobs aren’t exactly stable. It’s hard to see how they’ll be able to afford all of this.
Venus is searching for connection while others around him are building families. We get a glimpse into his life, including his journey of coming out, through a Pride photoshoot at Villa Rosa—a perfume counter that blossomed into a full house—and interactions with his cousins and photographer, Marcus. We also learn about the challenges he faced growing up gay in a small town and how his parents initially struggled to accept him. It’s sweet to learn that his dad started watching Vanderpump Rules as a way to connect with Venus! More dads should have LGBTQ+ children—it might just introduce them to some truly great reality TV.
Jason’s appearance at the photoshoot is a bright spot, but things aren’t going well at his new job at SUR. It’s his first day working independently – he took twice as long to train as everyone else – and he’s stuck waiting on Lisa and the rather unenthusiastic Ken Todd. He’s completely unfamiliar with the drinks, the menu, and basically everything except smiling and showing off his muscles. Lisa decides his talents are better suited to greeting guests, which feels like a step down. However, Jason sees it as a promotion because he gets to stand outside and flirt – something he excels at. Fortunately, Shayne, known for his early work with Quibi, brings Jason along to a film shoot and introduces him to producers and directors, potentially landing him a role in a short film. (No offense intended regarding his height!)
Things are definitely getting more romantic between him and Natalie. The group went to the beach to support McKenna, one of the SUR servers who didn’t get the job. (Seriously, she can’t stand Parker, and he doesn’t even work at SUR, yet he had more screen time than Angelica, who was recovering from breast augmentation surgery.) After the beach, they all went to Tower 12, which now seems haunted by Sandoval’s bad vibes – basically, anyone who goes there is doomed. While they were there, Natalie said there’s nothing better than drinks and making out, and I completely agree. Honestly, I’ve had a lot of questionable hookups at gay bars – let’s just say I’ve been there, done that. But it was still a good time.
At the bar, Natalie kissed one of McKenzie’s friends, Alyson. Then, Jason started kissing Natalie and jokingly suggested they all kiss each other. Instead, Alyson began kissing Natalie, and Jason seemed thrilled, already planning a caption for a video of it to post on his OnlyFans. Honestly, Jason doesn’t seem very important to what’s happening – it feels more like a connection between two people than a three-way thing. It’s probably just a line, actually. I’m terrible at geometry, which isn’t surprising since I was usually at the gay bar making out with guys when I should have been studying.
Jason and Natalie become very intimate in Tower 12, attempting to conceive a child, similar to Marcus and Kim. This happens while Chris and Audrey are trying to have a serious discussion, and is visually depicted with a very close shot of Jason and Natalie.
The episode kicks off with Audrey, arguably the most compelling person on the show, going on a date with Chris at Universal Studios. They playfully dress up in Harry Potter robes, and Chris’s enthusiastic wand-waving is reminiscent of his online content. This scene is a clear nod to NBCUniversal, Bravo’s parent company, and a playful reference to Andy Cohen’s involvement. Despite Chris believing the date is going well, Audrey decides she’s more comfortable remaining just friends – though they’ve clearly been more than that. Her reasoning is solid: she was turned off by his crude language on a phone call weeks earlier, his focus solely on her looks instead of her personality, and his past comments about other dating shows he’s appeared on.
As someone who studies reality TV, this is the most fascinating part to me. A comment picked up by a hot mic revealed that Chris and Jason might not be showing their true selves on these dating shows – they could be playing roles for the cameras. This raises the question: are we seeing the real Chris and Jason, or are they acting? Is Chris simply pretending to be interested in Audrey because they’re being filmed?
When Natalie mentions her concerns at Universal, Chris is surprised, as he believed everything was going smoothly. She explains that while she thought their communication had improved since their previous issue, she’s now seeing a lot of warning signs she can’t ignore. They discuss it the next day at a beach party, near a strange tower where Chris’s twin cousin is hilariously trying to eat Natalie’s head. Chris assures her he’s not just interested in a casual fling; he wants to build a real connection and even cook for her. Honestly, a guy with that body offering to cook? Get ready for a healthy meal of chicken and steamed veggies!
He turns on the charm, delivering a speech straight out of a romantic comedy. He tells her he’s very interested in her and wants to prove it, and she decides to give him another chance. But it’s hard to know if he’s being genuine, or if this is just a performance. Is Audrey being real while Chris is faking it? Are they both pretending? Or are they both sincere? It’s difficult to trust anything we’re seeing. Just when these questions start to weigh on us, a mist rises from the floor of Tower 12 and takes the shape of a person—a ghostly figure, a boy brought to life. It’s the ghost of Satchel, Katie Maloney Schwartz’s ex-boyfriend. He asks the crowd if anyone wants a drink, but they barely notice him, too busy looking for someone to join them in a three-way.
