A recent report indicates that the next Pirates of the Caribbean film will feature Jack Sparrow’s son taking over as the main character. According to Hollywood insider Jack Sneider, this makes the upcoming movie a direct continuation of the original story, focusing on the next generation.
Just because the main story might be ending doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Jack Sparrow. There’s talk that Johnny Depp could return to play the famous pirate. But it’s also possible this is where Jack passes the adventure on to his children or someone connected to him.
The report indicates Krysty Wilson-Cairns is set to write the next Pirates of the Caribbean film. She previously co-wrote the screenplay for 1917 with Sam Mendes, and received an Academy Award nomination for her work.
