TikTok star Scottykfitness apologizes for “lashing out” at hateful comments

Fitness personality Scotty Knox Flynn, who goes by ScottyKFitness online, has apologized publicly after receiving criticism for how he reacted to negative comments on social media.

The issue started when Flynn responded to a comment that likened him to a character from the show Ozark. He felt the comment was a homophobic slur and made a TikTok video calling out the person who posted it.

The video, which has since been removed, revealed the person’s name and where they lived, leading to complaints that private details were shared. Flynn also replied to people criticizing him, and some of his responses were seen as making fun of people with disabilities.

Shortly after the incident, Ryse, a supplement company, announced it had ended its partnership with Flynn. They stated they were aware of his controversial comments and that his language didn’t reflect the company’s values.

Here’s an official statement from RYSE. We’re committed to maintaining high standards for both our team and everyone we work with. We deeply appreciate the community we’ve created and value it above all else.

Scotty K Fitness posts apology video and Discord message

Flynn posted a video on TikTok where he apologized and said he was taking responsibility for what he had done.

He began by apologizing, admitting he’d been fooling himself. He’d been telling himself he was a good person and focusing on the positive things he’d done, but he now realizes that was just a way to avoid owning up to his mistakes and taking responsibility for what he’d done.

I realized I messed up. I created this platform to be a welcoming and positive space, but I let my own pride get in the way. I reacted badly to criticism and responded with negativity, which wasn’t right. I’m truly sorry for falling short of the standards I set for myself and the values I promised to you all.

Flynn also acknowledged that some viewers may no longer want to support him following the incident.

He expressed hope that people would understand his situation, and that if they couldn’t, he understood if they chose to no longer support him. He said he hoped to earn back their trust eventually, but right now, his family’s safety was his priority. He promised to return and apologized, finishing by saying he loved them all.

In another message to his Discord server, Flynn repeated his apology and explained that the situation had impacted his family.

I want to apologize to everyone. I created this community based on inclusivity and kindness, but I messed up by reacting to negativity with more negativity. I’m truly sorry, and I care about all of you.

He explained that his family’s safety is currently at risk, and they are being forced to move after people started coming to their home. He apologized for falling short of expectations and said he needs to focus on the future. He asked everyone not to react publicly to this news by sharing videos or commenting online, and ended with a message of love for his supporters.
