WrestleMania 42: Everything We Know About The Upcoming WWE Event

Get ready – the Road to WrestleMania is here! In just a few months, WrestleMania 42, the biggest event in professional wrestling, will return to Las Vegas for the second year in a row. It won’t be long before we see another massive WWE event, especially after John Cena’s recent victory over Cody Rhodes, where he won his 17th world championship.

As a huge wrestling fan, I’m already getting excited for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas! While WWE hasn’t officially announced all the matches yet, we’re starting to get a good picture of what to expect from this two-night event. I’ve been gathering all the info – when and where it’s happening, how to tune in, and what other cool stuff is planned leading up to the biggest show of the year. I’m basically trying to map out the whole Road to WrestleMania!

When Is WrestleMania 42?

Fans who were hoping WrestleMania would return to being a one-day event will be disappointed. WWE has confirmed that WrestleMania 42 will again be held over two nights. Night 1 will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, and Night 2 will be on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

While WrestleMania now requires fans to commit a whole weekend – and several shows beforehand – to fully experience it, this format has actually created even more memorable wrestling moments. WWE started using this approach in April 2020 with WrestleMania 36.

Where Is WrestleMania 42 Being Held?

As a huge wrestling fan, I was surprised to hear WrestleMania is heading back to Las Vegas for the second year in a row! Usually, WWE likes to take the show – which everyone calls the ‘Super Bowl of Wrestling’ – to a different city each time. But this year, they’re doing something different and bringing it back to Allegiant Stadium, the home of the Raiders. It’s a bit of a controversial move, honestly, because they typically rotate locations, but I’m personally excited to see what they do with a repeat location.

WWE initially planned to hold WrestleMania 42 in New Orleans, which would have marked the city’s third major wrestling event in the last fifteen years (having hosted WrestleMania 30 in 2014 and WrestleMania 34 in 2018 at the Caesars Superdome). However, shortly after announcing New Orleans as the host city, and following last year’s event, WWE decided to return to the desert location for a second consecutive year.

How Can You Watch WrestleMania 42 Live?

After five years, WrestleMania won’t be available to stream exclusively on Peacock. WWE’s biggest event, returning to Las Vegas on April 18th and 19th, 2026, will now require a different way to watch. So, how can you tune in to see all the action?

US wrestling fans can watch the two-night event live by subscribing to ESPN Unlimited. If you miss the live broadcast, it will be available on demand starting Saturday and Sunday. ESPN Unlimited, launched in August 2025, is now the primary streaming home for WWE’s major events (though you can still find Saturday Night’s Main Event on Peacock). The app is user-friendly and easy to sign up for, and some cable and satellite subscribers may already have access included with their current plan.

People around the world can watch the event live with a Netflix subscription.

When Does The 2026 WWE Hall Of Fame Ceremony Take Place?

Las Vegas will be buzzing with WWE action this April, not just with the two-night WrestleMania event. The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is also coming up. While WWE hasn’t announced the details yet, it usually happens on the Friday night before WrestleMania, which would be April 17, 2026.

Although the ceremony is still several months away, WWE has revealed its first inductee. At the Wrestlepalooza event in September 2025 – the first event on the new ESPN Unlimited streaming service – WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker announced that Stephanie McMahon will be the first member of the 2026 Hall of Fame class.

We haven’t revealed any more names yet, but I have a list of wrestling legends who deserve to be in the WWE Hall of Fame. Keep an eye out for more details about them and the event itself in the weeks and months ahead.

Other Upcoming WWE Events On The Road To WrestleMania

WrestleMania is just a few months away, and with two nights of action planned in Las Vegas, there’s still much to look forward to as we head towards the event. We have a lot more to cover before the big show!

I’m so excited for the road to WrestleMania 42 to finally begin! It all kicks off on January 31st with the 2026 Royal Rumble, and it’s happening in a huge, purpose-built stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The best part? The men and women who win the Royal Rumble matches will earn their place on the WrestleMania card – and we’ll start seeing the card really take shape in just a few weeks. I can’t wait!

Following that, the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event will take place at the United Center in Chicago on Saturday, February 28, 2026. While no matches have been confirmed yet, we anticipate seeing a couple of elimination matches inside the challenging Elimination Chamber structure.

It’s surprising that WWE hasn’t revealed any plans for NXT before WrestleMania 42. However, it’s very likely they’ll still provide an opportunity for their developing wrestlers to perform in front of a global audience.

That covers everything we currently know about WrestleMania 42. With several major events planned before the big weekend, plus the regular episodes of Raw and SmackDown, things are really starting to heat up for WWE.
