Sega and Atlus have released Version 3.1 for Persona 5: The Phantom X on both Japanese and Western platforms. The main additions in this update are a new playable character, Runa “Howler” Dogenzaka, who can be obtained through a gacha banner, and a new area to explore, Akihabara.
This update introduces a new story event featuring Runa, which will eventually unlock the Akihabara area. In Akihabara, you’ll find a new Crane Game where you can collect plushies to decorate the main character’s room. Plus, Howler will be added to the standard character lineup available through the gacha system in a future update.

Heads up though, players in Southeast Asia will get the update about 8 days after everyone else. For those who haven’t jumped in yet, Persona 5: The Phantom X is out now on PC, iOS, and Android!

Exciting news! A new Crane Game is now available! You can unlock it after reaching Rank 15 and finishing the ‘Crane Game Fun’ mission. Head to the arcade in Akihabara to play. Choose how many times you want to play, add some funds, and try to win! You can use the plushies you win to decorate your home. If you get duplicates, you can trade them for Arcade Exchange Vouchers in the Recycle menu. These vouchers can then be used at the Prize Counter to get more plushies or items that boost your accomplices’ Affinity. See the game for complete details.
Don’t miss out on limited-time plushies available in the crane game! These special items are available until 1:59 AM UTC on March 5, 2026. Check out Mini Jack Frost and Pixie! You can also find these limited-time plushies at the Prize Counter under the Crane Game menu.
Join the Akihabara Mystery Map event! It’s available until 1:59 AM UTC on February 5, 2026. Once you’ve unlocked Runa Dogenzaka’s Synergy, you can explore Akihabara with her. More details will be announced soon.
