Actors Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, stars of the popular hockey romance series Heated Rivalry, will carry the Olympic torch during the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. This continues a strong media presence for the pair since their show premiered on Crave and HBO Max last November. The opportunity is especially meaningful because their characters on the show, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, were both athletes at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics—Shane winning gold for Canada and Ilya competing for Russia. HBO Max, which will broadcast the Olympics in Italy and begin streaming Heated Rivalry there in February, hopes to introduce the show’s dedicated fanbase—known as fujoshi—to a new audience.
The Olympic Torch Relay began in Rome last December. While an official announcement confirms that Storrie and Williams will participate as torchbearers, it doesn’t specify when they’ll carry the flame, only that it will be during the relay leading up to the Opening Ceremony on February 6th. Meanwhile, Williams is already promoting the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics by appearing at events throughout Milan Fashion Week.
