
Fans will soon learn more about the early life of the stylish lawyer from the popular comedy series, years after the show first became a hit.
Released in 2001, Legally Blonde stars Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods, a cheerful sorority president who decides to go to Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend. He broke up with her, believing she wasn’t serious enough. Witherspoon also starred in Legally Blonde 2, and while a third movie was discussed, a TV series was announced instead in 2024.
Amazon has announced that the Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle, will start streaming on Prime Video on July 1st. The show is a Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM production. A new poster has been released, showing Elle’s signature pink style and her adorable chihuahua. You can see the poster below.
The upcoming prequel will center on Elle during her high school years, with Lexi Minetree playing the lead role. June Diane Raphael and Tom Everett Scott will play her parents. The series is created by Laura Kittrell, and Caroline Dries is co-showrunner and executive producer. Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Marc Platt, and Amanda Brown are also executive producers.
Good news for fans: Amazon has renewed Elle for a second season, so you can expect to see more of this beloved character’s journey as she grows up.
