The Netflix show centers around a straightforward idea: a group of single people are dropped on an island, called Inferno, and must survive on their own. While on the island, they can’t tell anyone else their job or how old they are.
On the Netflix show Single’s Inferno Season 5, contestants who mutually choose each other as a couple get to enjoy a night at a fancy resort called Paradise. The first part of the new season has just been released, and several couples have already been formed.
Season 5 has been full of surprises with new rules and unexpected turns. We’ve detailed every challenge and competition so far – but be warned, this contains spoilers!
Paradise Couple Matching – Round 1
Like in past seasons of the Netflix show, contestants on Paradise choose who they’re most attracted to. In the first round of voting, the man and woman with the most votes get to pick their dates for Paradise.

Jae-jin’s humor and easygoing personality make their date fun and lighthearted, with lots of laughter. They connect over discovering each other’s ages and sharing about their creative jobs. However, Ye-jin later confesses that all the playful conversation felt exhausting, and she realizes their connection seems more like a strong friendship than a potential romance.
Kim Min-ji & Woo Sung-min
Right from the start, with the helicopter ride, things felt easygoing between them. Min-ji was straightforward, and Sung-min found himself drawn to her – they quickly realized they both valued having fun and feeling comfortable over appearing important. Min-ji later said the atmosphere was calm and relaxed, hinting at a possible friendship, but as everyone knows, feelings can shift quickly.

Couples Dodgeball
The game, Single’s Inferno, has straightforward rules. At the start, each woman stands with her chosen partner. Only the men can ‘attack’ – by throwing balls at the other couples. A couple is eliminated if they become separated or if a ball hits the woman. Staying together is key!
Teams are formed randomly by drawing colored balls. The last couple remaining wins iced Americanos and watermelon. Later, all the pairs discover they’ll each get a private lunch date.
With seven women and only six spots, the man who picks the pink ball will be eliminated from this round. That man is Lee Sung-hun.

Paradise Couple Matching – Round 2
During the second round of pairings on Paradise, the men first chose who they wanted to couple up with. Then, the women revealed their choices. If a man and woman both picked each other, they went on a date together. Here’s how the pairings turned out:
Kim Go-eun & Woo Sung-min
Their second date was much more personal and playful, filled with laughter, inside jokes, and a clear physical connection. They both felt a stronger bond this time, and their attraction was obvious, whether they were swimming or chatting late at night. Sung-min confidently told Go-eun he’s determined to continue getting to know her.
Lee Joo-young & Kim Jae-jin
Joo-young and Jae-jin immediately hit it off, and they were happy to finally have some uninterrupted time together after their lunch date was rushed. Jae-jin playfully confessed that Joo-young is exactly his type, and their conversation remained fun and flirty, suggesting a growing connection between them.
Choi Mina Sue & Lim Su-been
Okay, so Su-beun totally admitted he’s really into Mina Sue, and yeah, he voted for her – you could see how happy that made her! Honestly, even though there’s a three-year age difference, they just seem to click. Watching them swim and stay up late talking, I’m getting serious vibes that things could really develop between them on Single’s Inferno Season 5. I’m definitely rooting for them!
Kim Min-ji & Song Seung-il
They immediately hit it off, playfully teasing each other and seeming to be on the same wavelength, even though there’s a five-year age difference. Min-ji is starting to develop real feelings, and Seung-il is sure he can make her attraction grow on their date.

Okay, so in this photoshoot challenge, we’re all trying to find “the hottest couple” to photograph. The girls pull numbers to see who gets to pick their male model first, and then we go in order, each of us choosing our partner. It’s kinda like a draft, but for couples!
Because there are more male contestants than female, each woman chooses two men to work with. After the photoshoot, everyone votes for the best picture, but they can’t vote for their own.
