There’s a sneaky way to watch A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for free

The new show, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, started off strong with a quietly compelling first episode that nicely introduced its main characters, Dunk and Egg. If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s a simple way to watch the premiere episode without paying.

“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is a fresh take on George R.R. Martin’s world, set in Westeros, but unlike other adaptations, it centers on the stories of just two main characters instead of a large cast.

The series takes place between the events of House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones, following the story of Ser Duncan, nicknamed ‘Hedge Night’ (played by Paul Claffey), and his apprentice, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell).

The first episode is now available on HBO Max, but you can find ways to watch the show online even if you don’t want to pay for a subscription.

How to watch A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for free

Even if you don’t have an HBO Max subscription, you can still watch A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms without paying for it directly. The easiest way is to use a TV streaming service that offers it as an extra channel.

Right now, YouTube TV lets new subscribers try the service free for 21 days, and during that trial, you can also add HBO Max. This gives you temporary access to everything on HBO Max – like the show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms – so you can see if you want to keep the subscription after the trial ends.

To start your free trial, visit the YouTube TV homepage and click the “Try 21 days for $0” button. You’ll need to sign in with your YouTube (or Google) account, and then you’ll see a screen similar to the one shown here:

Now, scroll down to the “Add to Membership” area. Choose a show available on HBO or HBO Max, and you can easily add it to your trial subscription.

To get the offer, you’ll need to start a YouTube TV free trial and add HBO Max during that trial period. If you decide you don’t want to continue with the subscription, remember to cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

Because Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has only six episodes, you can either watch the first three now, or wait until all episodes are released to watch the entire season at once.

If you choose YouTube TV, keep in mind the price is $49.99 a month initially, but increases to $82.99 after three months. HBO Max, on the other hand, starts at $10.99 a month with ads, so it’s important to figure out which service offers the best value for your money.

You might also be able to get access through deals and packages offered by other companies. For instance, Cricket Wireless customers with the Supreme Unlimited plan can get a free HBO Max Basic with Ads subscription.

If you’re a Cricket customer with a plan other than Supreme Unlimited, you can switch to get access to the included streaming service.

To start watching, simply sign in to or create an account on HBO Max. Then, choose “Connect Your Provider” and select “Cricket” from the list. Enter your Cricket Wireless username and password, and you’re all set to enjoy!
