Following a hint from the Russo brothers about hidden clues in the Avengers: Doomsday trailers, a fan on Reddit believes they’ve found a connection. According to a report from IGN, the numbers flashing at the end of each trailer seem to match specific moments in Avengers: Endgame. The theory suggests these Endgame timestamps point to plot points that will reappear in Doomsday.
As a huge Marvel fan, I found something really cool hidden in the original teasers for Endgame. The Steve Rogers teaser had a code – “1e:24ber:02020” – which actually lines up with the 1:24:20 mark in the movie. That’s the exact moment the Ancient One explains how taking an Infinity Stone creates alternate timelines! And it doesn’t stop there. The Thor teaser ends with “1e:17ber:02020,” translating to 1:17:20. That’s when Ant-Man kicks the Tesseract case, leading directly to Loki’s escape and, well, the whole Loki series! It’s crazy how much they foreshadowed everything.
The X-Men trailer included a hidden code – “1e:11ber:02020” – referencing a specific moment in Endgame: the scene at 1 hour, 11 minutes, and 20 seconds where Rocket asks Thor if he’s crying. This is a clever nod, as Deadpool & Wolverine features Deadpool asking the same question! The final trailer, showcasing Shuri, M’Baku, Namor, and The Thing, used the code “1e:04ber:02020,” pointing to 1 hour, 04 minutes, and 20 seconds into Endgame. This is the moment the characters begin planning the time heist, which essentially launched the Multiverse Saga.
An MCU Puzzle Solved or Wild Speculation?

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
The idea is interesting and makes sense in several ways. But why focus on Avengers: Endgame instead of another Marvel film? It seems Avengers: Doomsday is being set up as a direct continuation of Endgame. This is clear from the return of the Russo brothers as directors, and the first trailer showed Chris Evans reprising his role as Captain America. To further build anticipation, Disney is even re-releasing Endgame in cinemas in September 2026, leading up to the release of Doomsday.

It’s important to remember this is all just a guess. In the past, fans created theories – like one suggesting the containers for the Infinity Stones would spell out ‘Thanos’ – that didn’t end up being true. The recent excitement over a rumored extra episode of Stranger Things proves that sometimes fans enjoy the mystery and guesswork as much as the story itself. We won’t know if this theory is correct until Avengers: Doomsday comes out on December 18, 2026, but it’ll be interesting to revisit it then and see how it all played out.
