On February 5th, Apple Arcade subscribers will gain access to Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 Arcade Edition. The game will be available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. Currently, there are no plans to release it on Android.
Civilization 7, which came out last February on computers and consoles, is a strategy game where you build and lead a civilization from ancient times to the modern era. The mobile version, called Civilization 7 Arcade Edition, offers a similar experience to the full game – it’s not a simplified or watered-down version.
The standout feature of Civilization 7 Arcade Edition is its user interface, which has been designed specifically for touchscreens on iPhones and iPads. Right now, the best similar experience you can get is using a touchscreen as a cursor on a PC handheld device or the Nintendo Switch 2.

Behaviour Interactive, the creators of Dead by Daylight, developed this game. They’re no strangers to mobile gaming, having also created titles such as Worms Across Worlds and Fallout Shelter.
While Civilization 7 Arcade Edition is the biggest game launching on Apple Arcade in the next few weeks, it’s not the only new content. Apple recently announced several other upcoming games and events for the service.
Apple Arcade is getting several new additions in January and February. On January 22nd, a Paddington-themed event will be available in Crayola Create and Play+. Then, on February 5th, subscribers can enjoy the retro game collection Retrocade, the rhythm game Felicity’s Door, and an ad-free version of I Love Hue Too.
