The new sci-fi horror series, The Beauty, is gaining a lot of attention even before it officially launches. It will be available to stream on FX and Hulu through Disney+ starting January 21st.
The trailer for the new FX series The Beauty has quickly become the network’s most popular trailer ever, racking up almost 190 million views in its first week across social media, according to Disney. While the previous record holder wasn’t revealed, this is a significant achievement for the show. The Beauty, created by Ryan Murphy, tells the story of a dangerous treatment that makes people physically attractive but also has deadly consequences.
A new trailer for the series The Beauty was released on January 5th, offering a glimpse into the show’s central conflict with a powerful organization called ‘The Corporation.’ This group promotes a super drug promising instant beauty, but hides the dangerous consequences. The first three episodes will premiere on FX on January 21st at 9 p.m. Eastern Time, and will also be available to stream on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ in other countries.
The new trailer for The Beauty is gaining attention quickly after the release of All’s Fair, a legal drama with Kim Kardashian and Naomi Watts. While critics weren’t impressed with All’s Fair, calling it simplistic, the show was a big hit with viewers, becoming Hulu’s most-watched new scripted series in three years. Now, The Beauty appears poised for similar success.
The television show The Beauty is adapted from a thirty-issue comic book series by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley, published by Image Comics and later collected into six trade paperbacks. The comic’s storyline hints at the direction of the show, with Image describing the premise as follows: most people have used a new sexually transmitted drug, but Detectives Foster and Vaughn will uncover its dangerous consequences.
Alongside Peters and Kutcher, the main cast of The Beauty features Anthony Ramos as a hired muscle for a powerful organization called the ‘Corporation,’ and Jeremy Pope as a man unexpectedly caught up in the crisis caused by a new drug. Rebecca Hall plays Jordan Bennett, an FBI agent who teams up with Cooper Madsen (played by Peters) to investigate a growing number of suspicious deaths.
Ryan Murphy’s New Horror Series Brings a Star-Studded Lineup of Guest Stars
I was surprised by the guest star list for The Beauty! Though the main cast is fairly tight-knit, the show is bringing in a lot of recognizable faces throughout the first season. It makes sense, given the show’s focus on beauty and image, that they’ve cast several models – like Amelia Ray Hamlin and Bella Hadid – who really embody those themes. It’s a clever way to tie the guest appearances into the core of the story.
Billy Eichner, Ben Platt, and singer Meghan Trainor are also confirmed to star in The Beauty. Italian-American actress Isabella Rossellini, known for her work with Lancôme, will play a recurring character named Franny Forst. FX describes Franny as a devoted wife and mother who starts to doubt her husband’s motives and excessive desire for wealth due to her growing resentment towards him.
The Beauty arrives on FX and Hulu on Jan. 21, 2026.
