Zazie Beetz has experienced a lot of action playing Domino in the Deadpool movies, but she says her new film is far more violent. Produced by Andy and Barbara Muschietti – the team behind the successful IT and IT: Welcome to Derry – the movie recently released a very graphic trailer, though the star promises the full film will be even more intense.
During a recent Q&A session, actress Zazie Beetz described her favorite scene from the movie, calling it a very violent one with lots of fighting, gunshots, and even a moment she referred to as a “full blood explosion.” She then went on to share:
There was an incredible moment – a huge, dramatic effect – that we’d been building towards for a long time. Because of the mess it created, we only had one chance to get it right. That single take really captured the feeling we were aiming for – a sense of pure joy and playful absurdity. It was one of those times where I just felt grateful for the amazing experiences I get to have.
Director Kirill Sokolov highlighted another standout moment – a scene with a flaming axe – that alone makes the movie worth seeing, particularly because actress Jella Haase fully committed to the stunt. He shared that it was one of his favorite scenes, explaining:
During Zazie Beetz’s initial rehearsal, she wielded a flaming axe with incredible skill. She effortlessly swung the fiery weapon, sending stuntmen flying and even appearing to set them ablaze mid-air – all with a natural grace that was astonishing. It was then I realized she possessed the strength and presence to truly embody the character, a true warrior. Seeing her in action instantly banished all my doubts about the film.
‘They Will Kill You’ Is 2026’s Most Anticipated Gore-Fest
As a huge horror fan, I’m already excited about They Will Kill You. It looks like it’s going to be right up my alley – similar to the wild, gory fun of films like The Monkey (2025) and Evil Dead Rise (2024). Basically, expect a ton of over-the-top blood and guts, but with a really dark, funny edge. It’s hitting theaters in March, and I have a feeling it’s going to be a big one. Here’s what it’s about…
“They Will Kill You” is a wild, funny, and terrifying horror film packed with action. It follows a young woman (Zazie Beetz) who finds herself trapped in the lair of a dangerous cult called the Virgil. She has to survive the night—and avoid becoming their next sacrifice—in a chaotic showdown filled with over-the-top violence and dark comedy.
The trailer suggests a hidden monster is at the heart of the film, potentially making it a standout horror movie like The Cabin in the Woods. We’ll have to wait a few months for its release, but it’s already shaping up to be one of the biggest horror hits of 2026, and fans are excited.
