Gerard Butler is back in another disaster movie, Greenland 2: Migration, continuing the story from 2020’s Greenland. The new film takes place five years later and follows Butler as he tries to protect his family again, this time facing a new global catastrophe. Beyond the already harsh world of Reign of Fire, the film delivers thrilling action, including a unique and breathtaking scene of soldiers skydiving with dragons. The story culminates in a massive showdown against the biggest dragon of all, with the fate of humanity hanging in the balance.

I recently revisited Reign of Fire, and it’s fascinating to remember seeing it back when Christian Bale and Gerard Butler weren’t the huge stars they are today. It really feels like a little time capsule! Interestingly, the film has gained a new following because of how famous they’ve become. While it’s a very different apocalyptic world than we see in Greenland, I have to say, Reign of Fire remains one of Butler’s most genuinely fun end-of-the-world movies.
