The Batman 2 Finds Its Harvey Dent, Joker’s Return Status Revealed

Some new information regarding the villains in The Batman 2 has come to light.

The Batman 2, the follow-up to the 2022 hit The Batman, is scheduled to hit US theaters in 2027. Matt Reeves is returning to direct, and Robert Pattinson will again play Batman/Bruce Wayne. Scarlett Johansson will also be appearing in the film, though her role hasn’t been revealed yet.

News came out today that Sebastian Stan, famous for his role as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is potentially joining the cast of the next Batman movie. The article from Deadline didn’t mention which character he might play.

Movie insider Jeff Sneider reports that Jacob Elordi is likely being considered for the role of Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face. Sneider revealed shortly after the initial casting news that director Matt Reeves had already chosen his actor for the part, and Sneider was about to share the information when the news leaked.

Yesterday, Sneider shared an image of the Batman villain Two-Face without any explanation. He followed up by retweeting the same picture alongside news about the casting of an actor for the role. Although DC hasn’t officially confirmed anything, it seems Harvey Dent will be appearing in Matt Reeves’ Batman universe.

Sneider also reported that Barry Keoghan will likely reprise his role as the Joker in the upcoming Batman 2. This expectation of Keoghan’s return was also noted in a Variety article discussing the casting of Stan.
