Square Enix is releasing a free demo of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined on January 7th for all platforms. If you play the demo, you’ll be able to continue your progress in the full game when it launches next month. Plus, demo players will receive a special costume – the “Day Off Dress” – for the character Maribel.
Additionally, Square Enix has released the game’s opening movie, which we’ve shared below.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will be available on February 5th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

Try out a free demo of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined starting January 7th! If you enjoy it, your progress will carry over when the full game launches on February 5, 2026.
Players who saved their progress from the demo on their console and continue playing the full game will get a special bonus: Maribel’s “Day Off Dress”!
