EA’s new Skate game has quickly become popular since its release on September 16th. The developers report that over 2 million people played the game-the first new installment in 15 years-within its first day.
“Beyond stoked”
We’re thrilled to welcome everyone to San Vansterdam! Thanks for bearing with us while we work to handle the high demand. Keep enjoying the game, and we’ll see you in the virtual world!
Skate is a free game currently available on PC and consoles, with a mobile version planned for iOS and Android. It won’t be released on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Although the game is free to play, Electronic Arts is offering two optional packs: the Founder’s Pack for $25 and the Founder’s Pack Deluxe for $50, both of which include additional content. Unlike some early-access games that become paid when fully released, EA has confirmed that Skate will stay free when its official version launches in about a year.
Major issue fixed
After a rocky launch with server issues, the game Skate also had a bug that stopped players from continuing past specific points. This “soft lock” affected many users, but the developers at Full Circle have now fixed it.
