The console versions of Ready or Not had to be altered to meet Sony and Microsoft’s requirements, and those changes unfortunately impacted the PC version to maintain compatibility for crossplay. This led to significant criticism from players who felt the game was being censored. While the developers explained the changes and suggested mods could restore the original content, many players have already requested refunds. Now, players are focusing their efforts on getting the developers to address issues with the game’s AI.
It’s not amusing when they keep getting stuck, freezing up, or ignoring orders
Despite the issues it’s faced, the game console quickly attracted 2 million players in its first three days. The developers have since released several updates, including one that surprisingly allows players to eliminate teammates without consequence. However, the biggest problem that needs fixing isn’t the AI-created content within the game – it’s the core artificial intelligence itself.
Players are primarily complaining that the AI has significantly declined in quality since the game launched on consoles. They report issues with the AI being unable to navigate effectively – it frequently gets stuck, fails to enter rooms, or simply doesn’t follow orders. Some players have even noticed units freezing up or wandering aimlessly. A recent post on Reddit highlighted the problem, and VOID Interactive’s Community Manager acknowledged that the AI needs improvement.

Players are still waiting for the game to improve with each update, but it feels like nothing has changed since it launched on consoles. The artificial intelligence isn’t just a little flawed – it needs a complete redesign. It’s so frustrating that many players stop playing, but keep checking back to see if the issues have been resolved.
