A new group of Avengers will appear in 2025, and they’re expected to team up with Steve Rogers and other heroes to fight Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. The battle will likely involve a large number of heroes, and some might even become official members of the Avengers. This raises the question: could Daredevil be among those who join the team?
During a recent appearance at GalaxyCon New Orleans, actor Charlie Cox discussed the potential for his character, Daredevil, to become an Avenger. Cox, whose new season of Daredevil: Born Again will be available on Disney+ starting March 4th, shared his thoughts on the possibility, as reported by Popverse.
That’s hilarious, and a great question! I imagine Matt Murdock would really ponder that scenario. He’s pretty independent and prefers to work alone. He’s not one to jump at the chance to team up with others – much like Frank Castle. Charlie Cox would be incredibly excited about that, and I’d be eager to work on it too.
I understand why Charlie Cox thinks Daredevil could join the Avengers, even though it’s happened in the comics. Plus, Cox has already played Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and the She-Hulk and Daredevil: Born Again shows are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It seems likely all of this was done intentionally, to pave the way for Daredevil to appear in future Marvel team-up movies.
The first look at the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again shows Jessica Jones, but it’s the appearance of Karen Page with red hair that’s really grabbing attention.
As a huge Marvel fan, I can totally picture Daredevil popping up in future Avengers films, even if he doesn’t become an official Avenger himself. Let’s be real, even at his strongest, he’s not on the same power level as some of those guys – and that’s okay! He could still have a really cool part to play without going toe-to-toe with cosmic threats.
While heroes with superpowers like The Hulk are impressive, the team also included skilled fighters like Black Widow and Hawkeye, proving strength isn’t everything. Bringing Charlie Cox into the MCU would be a real win for longtime Marvel fans who were disappointed he wasn’t part of it before, even though there were good reasons for that at the time.
With so many established actors already returning for Avengers: Doomsday, it’s unlikely Charlie Cox will have a major role. He probably won’t have as much screen time as stars like Patrick Stewart, Chris Evans, or David Harbour. However, a cameo appearance would be great! But don’t expect any confirmations from Cox himself until Marvel Studios makes an official announcement.
The new season of Daredevil: Born Again starts March 4th on Disney+, launching Season 2. Since Avengers: Doomsday isn’t scheduled until December 2026, I expect we’ll learn if Daredevil will be in that movie during this upcoming season.
