Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Will No Longer Paywall Any Launch-Day Vampire Clans

The Chinese Room, the developer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, has announced that players will have access to two more vampire clans – Lasombra and Toreador – without needing to purchase extra content. These clans have been added to the main game, increasing the number of playable options to six when the game releases in October.

Initially, players could only access the Lasombra and Toreador clans by purchasing the $22 ‘Shadows and Silk’ expansion or the more expensive deluxe edition, which included the ‘Santa Monica Memories’ DLC. This decision received negative feedback from fans, and the developers, The Chinese Room, announced they would be making changes to address the issue. Clans are a key part of the Vampire Bloodlines experience, offering players unique backgrounds and abilities to learn as they choose a side.

In Bloodlines 2, you can unlock special abilities for each vampire faction, but it takes effort and resources – specifically, you’ll need to collect rare blood from important characters. Powers related to your chosen clan are simpler to acquire, while learning abilities from other clans demands a greater commitment.

The Chinese Room announced two upcoming story expansions for 2026: “Loose Cannon” and “The Flower and the Flame.” Players will experience Seattle through the eyes of Benny Muldoon, a Camarilla Sheriff, and Ysabella Moore, a Primogen, in these new packs. Both are included with the Expansion Pass available in the Premium Edition.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 launches on October 21 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
