As a huge fan of Pluribus, I love how much room it leaves for speculation and different theories. But sometimes the show throws you a curveball – a clue that seems pretty definitive. And honestly, something spotted on Google Earth might be the biggest hint we’ve gotten yet, almost like a straight-up spoiler!
The latest episode of the Apple TV show quickly explained what shocked Carol so much: she discovered human remains. It was revealed that the group known as The Others have been collecting bodies and, shockingly, practicing cannibalism to survive.
The news was revealed through a playful appearance by John Cena, portraying a version of himself. The next installment, Pluribus Episode 7, will feature the grumpy Manousos (Carlos-Manuel Vesga) confronting Carol (Rhea Seehorn).
Because the show is so unpredictable, it’s hard to say what will happen before the finale. However, some fans believe they’ve found a potential spoiler in a surprising place: Google Earth.
Google Earth reveals Pluribus “spoiler”
The cul-de-sac where Carol lives in the Apple TV show was actually built specifically for the series by Vince Gilligan in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Interestingly, if you check Google Earth’s historical images from August 2024, you’ll find the message “come back” clearly visible right in the middle of the street.

A fan of the game Pluribus noticed something unusual and pinpointed the exact location – 35°09’55.4″N 106°44’46.4″W – where a message appeared. Interestingly, the message is only visible at this moment; if you check that same location in August 2023 or after March 2025, it won’t be there.
Since the show was filmed from February to September 2024, this message likely appears intentionally within the storyline. It’s possible Carol is attempting to connect with a collective consciousness, or that she’s encountered someone else from outside the group.
A Reddit user recently shared their experience visiting the set of a TV show after learning the creator had a neighborhood constructed. They were surprised to find a large message painted in one of the cul-de-sacs, reading ‘Come Back’.

It seems likely this is about the Hive – they’ve stopped communicating with Carol, and she’s now trying to reach them.
One person commented that Carol seemed to really miss the pirate character. Another expressed surprise at how someone could receive a spoiler in such an unusual way.
Everyone’s been buzzing about what this all means, and I’m really wondering if Carol will be able to push that hive mind even further away. It’s got me totally hooked!
Someone suggested that Carol will probably discover a cure, but the Hive are now avoiding contact, making it impossible to deliver it to them.
Someone else suggested it’s likely a combination of Zosia wanting to reconnect and her needing to keep working on a way to fix everything.
One person guessed it could only be seen from space, not by the hive itself. They wondered if it was a signal from the hive, calling for their alien mother to return to Earth. Someone else jokingly suggested Carol could simply call her.
Someone else suggested it might not be meant for everyone. If the theories about Manousus are true – that he’s a pilot – this could be a message for him, perhaps related to a visit he’s planning.
Or, perhaps Gilligan deliberately left the message to confuse us. Considering the bizarre things that happen, particularly in Pluribus, it’s definitely possible.
The next episode of the show will be available on Apple TV on December 12th. Before then, you can learn about Carol Sturka – a woman who was hospitalized following an ad for Pluribus – and understand why the story won’t have a surprising, unexpected ending like those in M. Night Shyamalan films.
