Electronic Arts announced that The Sims 4 will receive several improvements over the next two months. Players will get to choose which smaller features and bug fixes are added first through a voting system.
A core game update will launch on PC on September 18th, and on consoles five days after that. This is happening sooner than expected, giving the development team time to fix any issues players might encounter with different computer setups. Plus, it gives modders and content creators a head start on updating their work before the new “Adventure Awaits” expansion is released.
The team will keep a close eye on player feedback and release quick fixes for Adventure Awaits throughout October. Then, in November, a larger update for The Sims 4 will arrive with both bug fixes and fresh content for all players. EA hasn’t shared details about the new content yet, but says they’ll announce more as November approaches.
Sims 4 players can help prioritize bug fixes by visiting the official Sims forums and voting on threads that describe issues they’re having.
Electronic Arts (EA) has reiterated that they are still actively supporting and updating The Sims 4, and currently have no plans to develop The Sims 5. Despite this, a board game adaptation of The Sims was released in August.
