Many Netflix users expecting the first part of Stranger Things Season 5 today were disappointed to find it wasn’t immediately available. There’s a short, planned delay in the release.
The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is almost here after a long wait. The group from Hawkins will return for one last adventure, determined to defeat and destroy Vecna.
The creators of the Netflix series, Matt and Ross Duffer, have stated that the show will ultimately explain everything – including the origins of the Upside Down and the reason Will Byers (played by Noah Schnapp) was originally kidnapped.
We won’t have all the answers immediately, because Season 5 is being released in three parts. However, the first part, Volume 1, kicks off a huge finale and will be available very soon.

The first part of Stranger Things Season 5, with four episodes, will be available on Netflix starting November 26, 2025, at 5 PM Pacific Time / 8 PM Eastern Time.

New shows and movies on Netflix typically become available at 12am Pacific Time / 3am Eastern Time, but the latest season of Stranger Things will be released at a different time.
Why is it delayed?
This isn’t about any problems happening internally. The delay is just to allow viewers in the US to watch Season 5 at the most convenient time.
The streaming service often adjusts release dates for popular shows to prioritize viewers in the United States, where it gets the most traffic. A recent example is the finale of Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2, which was delayed for this reason.
Releasing the episodes earlier in the US helps fans avoid spoilers. However, viewers in other parts of the world will need to stay up late or steer clear of social media until they’ve had a chance to watch. The same adjusted release time will apply to Volume 2 and the Season 5 finale.
