Death Stranding 2’s PC Release Could Be Coming Soon

It looks like Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the new game from Hideo Kojima, might be coming to PC, similar to the original Death Stranding. A rating for the game on PC has appeared on the ESRB website, which usually happens before a game’s release, hinting that a PC version could be announced and launched soon.

Death Stranding first came out on PlayStation 4 in November 2019. The PC version followed in July 2020, about eight months later.

Sony controls when and where Death Stranding is released on platforms beyond PlayStation, and they’re finding that PC gaming is a growing source of income. They’ve already earned over $1 billion from releasing games on PC.

Sony, unlike Microsoft, generally doesn’t release its games on both PlayStation and PC at the same time. According to PlayStation boss Hermen Hulst, this is intentional – it’s a way to strengthen the PlayStation console experience. He explained that their focus is on carefully timing the release of their story-driven, single-player games, which have been central to PlayStation’s success.

As for when Death Stranding 2 could be released on PC, that’s anyone’s guess for now.

Hideo Kojima is currently working on several games, such as the spy thriller Physint and a horror game called OD. Sadly, Udo Kier, an actor in OD who also had roles in games like Call of Duty and Command & Conquer, recently passed away. Kojima publicly shared a touching tribute to the German actor.
