Marvel has revealed its comic book schedule for February, and the upcoming Spider-Man and Venom team-up promises to be their most intense yet. Written by Joe Kelly, Al Ewing, and Charles Soule, with artwork by Jesús Saiz, Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral #1 will launch a frightening new story arc that continues through April. The series follows the events of recent Venom, Amazing Spider-Man, and Eddie Brock: Carnage comics, with the story building on the unsettling developments from the Eddie Brock: Carnage series.

A dangerous new serial killer with superpowers has emerged, and they’re targeting Spider-Man, Venom, and all their allies. Meanwhile, Carnage has discovered a shocking secret, and it seems to be connected to Spider-Man!
Eddie Brock is usually known as the host of the Venom symbiote, but that’s changed dramatically after the recent “Venom War” storyline in Marvel Comics. After separating from Eddie, the Venom symbiote unexpectedly bonded with Mary Jane Watson, who was still recovering from a previous experience with an ancient entity. This new partnership has created a hopeful and positive chapter for the Venom symbiote, and they are now dedicated to helping others.
Similar to the connection between Miles Morales and Venom, Eddie Brock unexpectedly bonded with Carnage. However, Carnage was purely focused on causing chaos and destruction. For months, it terrorized the world, mostly without Eddie realizing what was happening, and also mentally tormented Eddie by making him feel like he’d lost control of himself.
To make matters even more dangerous, Carnage has just discovered the memories Eddie Brock had suppressed. This means the most lethal superpowered killer in Marvel history now knows Spider-Man’s secret identity, along with all of Eddie’s other hidden secrets. It won’t be long before Carnage uses this information, likely creating another conflict and further distancing itself from Eddie.
Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral #1 goes on sale Feb. 25, 2026 from Marvel Comics.
