Star Wars’ Jon Favreau is finally addressing those rumors regarding The Mandalorian Season 4.
What were The Mandalorian Season 4 rumors?
Since debuting in 2019, The Mandalorian has become the most-watched Star Wars series on Disney+. After the show’s third season ended in April 2023, many viewers wondered if Din Djarin and Grogu would be back for another story.
Although it makes sense for The Mandalorian to continue with a fourth season on Disney+, Disney and Lucasfilm have instead decided to create a theatrical movie featuring Din Djarin and Grogu.
This raises the question of whether a fourth season of The Mandalorian was ever planned. Jon Favreau addressed this in a recent interview with Empire magazine.
Jon Favreau revealed they had intended to create a fourth season, and he’d already finished writing it. He confirmed he still has the complete script for season four with him.
Jon Favreau hasn’t said whether he’ll make a fourth season of The Mandalorian after the upcoming movie. Right now, his focus is on ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu,’ which will be the first Star Wars film released in theaters since 2019’s ‘The Rise of Skywalker.’
Pedro Pascal is back as Din Djarin, the bounty hunter everyone calls The Mandalorian. This time, he and his son, Grogu, are embarking on a new adventure together.
With the Empire defeated, its remaining leaders are now spread across the galaxy. The newly formed New Republic is trying to safeguard the freedoms won by the Rebellion, and they’ve asked for help from Din Djarin, a famous Mandalorian bounty hunter played by Pedro Pascal, and his young companion, Grogu.
The cast features Sigourney Weaver playing Ward, who leads the New Republic’s Adelphi Rangers. Jeremy Allen White will portray Rotta the Hutt, the son of the famous Jabba the Hutt, and Jonny Coyne will play an Imperial Warlord, a high-ranking leader from the remnants of the Galactic Empire.
Jon Favreau directed The Mandalorian and wrote the script with Dave Filoni. Favreau, Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Ian Bryce all served as producers on the show.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 22, 2026.
