Soaring Spin is a remarkably useful Mystic Skill in Where Winds Meet. While it doesn’t do massive damage, it’s fantastic for quickly getting to enemies and significantly reducing how effective their healing is – a huge advantage in player-versus-player combat, especially against healers. You won’t be able to unlock Soaring Spin until you’ve completed the first chapter of Where Winds Meet, meaning you’ll need to spend some time exploring Qinghe beforehand.
How to Unlock Soaring Spin in Where Winds Meet
Okay, so I finally tracked down Soaring Spin! It’s hidden in a chest inside a secret temple in Kaifeng, which is the second big area in Where Winds Meet. Getting there took a while – you need to hit level 32 and finish the first chapter before you can even access it. And honestly, finding the temple itself? It’s a real treasure hunt. Be prepared to do some serious exploring!
Finding the Keys
When you arrive in Kaifeng, go to the southern part of the map. South of the city, you’ll find a river. At the very end of the river is a pond with a Boundary Stone. Stand facing the waterfalls near the stone, then turn around – you’ll see a cave on the other side of the pond. Go inside the cave and listen to the guards near the entrance. After dealing with them, fight your way through the cave tunnels until you reach a kind of fortress. Explore the fortress, and when you find the main hall, look for a ladder and climb up. You’ll find a golden chest up there containing two keys.
The Secret Stronghold
Before continuing, ensure you’ve completed the “Celestial Seize” quest in Where Winds Meet. You need to finish this quest in Qinghe to unlock the Soaring Spin skill.
With both keys from the cave base in hand, head to the outpost at Dreamfall Cliff. It’s located east of the cave, beyond the Martial Temple. Clear out all the enemies within the outpost, then find the storage shed to the south. Inside, you’ll discover a hidden door leading to a new underground tunnel filled with soldiers.
You need to beat the boss in the outpost to get the key that unlocks this secret door.
The tunnel system is mostly a straight path. Keep moving forward and defeat any enemies you encounter, and you’ll eventually find a locked golden door. To open it, shoot the bell nearby with your bow, then use Meridian Touch.
Right after you go through that door, you’ll find a small entry room with a Boundary Stone. Beyond those large doors, past the stone, is the Secret Edict Chamber – a temple filled with statues and enemies. The most noticeable thing in this area is a massive asura statue, and to learn Soaring Spin, you’ll need to climb to the top of it.
To proceed, you’ll need to climb the support structures in this area. Begin by climbing over the small statues to find a ladder that takes you higher. It’s best to eliminate the enemies on the balconies first to avoid getting shot while climbing, or you can use the Veil of Stillness skill, which is learned at Moonveil Peak in Qinghe.
Continue climbing the beams until you can jump onto the statue’s head. Once you’re on top, turn around and use Celestial Seize to open the chest directly above you. Inside, you’ll find Soaring Spin and other useful items.
