Third Avengers Movie Right After Doomsday & Secret Wars Was Discussed — Report

With the upcoming releases of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, a new rumor has appeared online detailing Marvel Studios’ early ideas for the future of the Avengers movies.

A recent report from MyTimeToShineHello indicates that Marvel initially intended to tell the story of Avengers: Secret Wars across two movies, suggesting a very ambitious scope. However, the team has since decided to stick with a single film. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.

What do we know about Avengers: Secret Wars?

Similar to how they made ‘Doomsday’, Anthony and Joe Russo will direct and produce ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. Stephen McFeely is also writing the script. Production for the sixth Avengers film is scheduled to start in April 2026 and filming is expected to wrap up by September of that year.

Currently, the confirmed cast for Secret Wars includes Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, all reprising their roles from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Robert Downey Jr., an Academy Award winner, is also expected to appear as Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom. Rumors suggest Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and it’s now confirmed that his Spider-Man: Brand New Day co-star, Sadie Sink, will be joining the film. Sink’s role is still unknown, but fans are guessing she could play Gwen Stacy, Black Cat, or Jean Grey.
