As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the ending scenarios for Zoochosis are as chilling as they come. Each one leaves an indelible mark on the player, forcing us to grapple with the grim consequences of our actions.
Zoochosis is a terrifying simulation game where you play as a zookeeper at Pine Valley Zoo who’s suddenly caught up in a horrifying scenario. Your job isn’t just about taking care of sick animals due to an unknown plague, but also discovering various endings to the story. We can guide you through these different outcomes with our Zoochosis walkthrough.
General Zoochosis Gameplay Tips
- Keep or Disable Bodycam – Zoochosis features a unique bodycam-style POV by default that caters to the game’s immersion. However, it can be problematic for those prone to motion sickness while playing. If you prefer, you can disable the bodycam by going to ‘Options’ in the Start Menu and toggling the ‘Bodycam’ option ‘Off’.
- No Manual Saves – There are no manual save options in Zoochosis, only auto-save, so be careful when and where you choose to close the game.
- Interact With All Posters – As you go through the game’s prologue you’ll notice several informational posters along the way that give instructions for different procedures, such as feeding the animals, drawing blood, taking thermal images, etc. Interact with all of them and their information will be stored in PDA for later use. This will be incredibly helpful throughout the game.
- Rely on your PDA – Your PDA is the go-to for everything from all current tasks to your ‘Things’ (i.e. – inventory), access to different areas, and important notes for procedures.
- How to Take Blood Samples – To take a blood sample from an animal, use the Blood Syringe found on the Gadget Trolley. Simply approach an animal from behind and wait until it rests (its interaction square turns green) to use the Syringe to take a sample. This is important not only for testing for diseases but also for making a cure for mutated animals.
- How to Take Sound Readings – To take a sound reading from an animal, use the ASSA machine found on the Gadget Trolley. Approach an animal with it and stay in close range until the scan finishes to get a reading.
- Unlocking All Animal Enclosures – To unlock all animal enclosures in the game, you must complete a playthrough at least once, regardless of the ending you receive.

How to make and use medicine darts in Zoochosis
To treat any animals who may become ill in their enclosures, you should prepare the appropriate medication based on the illness they’ve developed and administer it using darts. All medications are made at our Veterinary Center, which is located within the KATIE train that moves around the zoo.
Once you’ve collected your essential readings and samples from the specified enclosure, navigate to the computer at the Veterinary Station. Here, you’ll want to open the ‘Diagnose’ and ‘Crafting’ menus. Initially, it’s crucial to determine an accurate diagnosis for your ailing animals by examining their flagged symptoms such as temperature, blood, etc. on the primary list. Keep in mind that various diseases exhibit distinct symptoms, so select with caution.
After you’ve determined the right diagnosis, navigate to the Crafting menu and look through the list of Potions. Be sure to carefully read the descriptions next to each Potion on the screen, as they’ll tell you which illnesses they can treat.
To ensure success with your chosen Formula, always verify that you possess adequate amounts of the essential chemical components. These components can be located within various colored bottles dispersed throughout the zoo in sufficient quantities. Should you discover a shortage, you won’t be able to produce the medicine, and you will need to venture further into the complex to locate additional supplies.
When all your necessary items are gathered, click the ‘Create’ button at the bottom of the screen. This action will set the machine to prepare the medication for you and fill a dart that you can load into your Dart Gun (located on your Gadget Trolley). If you require more than one dose for various animals, keep clicking ‘Create’ until you have sufficient darts. These darts will be stored in your inventory labeled as ‘Things’.
Remember that to reload your Dart Gun you can either do it from your PDA (click the dart in your inventory and press ‘Use’) or via the gadget submenu at the bottom left corner of your screen (press ‘R’ to reload another dart of the same time; press ‘MMB’ to cycle through different dart types). The latter option is often better, especially when you need to handle aggressive or mutated animals.
How to determine if an animal is sick in Zoochosis
Apart from feeding animals at each enclosure within the zoo, Paul’s responsibilities include conducting tests and keeping tabs on any animals that seem unwell. Regrettably, many of them are found to be ill with various ailments. Identifying all signs of illness is crucial not just for accurate diagnosis and medication prescription but also for their survival in case of potentially harmful mutations.
As a gamer, I’ve learned that there are subtle, non-verbal cues to watch out for when dealing with the in-game creatures. Some animals might seem fine, but others could show odd behaviors like excessive whining, erratic movements, and most notably, frequent vomiting. Additionally, if you pay close attention, you might notice a poster indicating that an animal is sleeping excessively, which usually means it’s low on energy or metabolism.
In addition to considering other factors, it’s crucial to utilize every tool provided in your Equipment Cart, so that you can accurately identify the sick animals and their symptoms. By gathering feces, blood samples, temperature readings, sounds, and tracking wounds using UV light, you will be able to pinpoint the specific disease afflicting those animals and determine the appropriate medications required for treatment.
All Endings in Zoochosis & How To Get Them
The tutorial concludes, but remember, Zoochosis isn’t just another game; it’s open-ended and greatly impacted by your decisions throughout the narrative. Although the main storyline is concise, the variety of conclusions you might encounter is vast (up to 23 endings, according to the creators). Consequently, even minor changes in your actions can result in a unique ending each time you play.
In this part, you’ll find all the endings currently uncovered in Zoochosis, featuring the standout and distinctive ones with particular goals for unlocking them. We’re continually updating this section as we discover additional endings.
Neutral Ending – AFK (or Don’t Sign NDA) Ending
In the game Zoochosis, the swiftest outcome you can achieve results in earning the ‘Failed interview’ achievement. If Doc (later known as Oliver) doesn’t sign the Non-Disclosure Agreement, he will get agitated and inject Paul with a parasite instead, leading to his demise.
True Best Ending (Everyone Lives)
As a devoted fan, I take on the role of Paul, who resorts to self-injecting parasite venom. Alongside my partner Sarah, we embark on an undercover mission to unmask Oliver and the shadowy group that operates within the zoo, responsible for releasing the catastrophic plague. With cunning precision, I position myself as bait near the Mother’s enclosure, while Sarah skillfully conceals a camera and prepares to ambush Oliver.
Following Oliver’s arrival, he opens the Mother’s habitat, makes a threat to eliminate everyone (including Paul’s spouse who tipped off the police), and Sarah takes action by surprise-attacking him and rendering him unconscious. Then, she administers the poison from the parasites to him. The Mother seizes the infected Oliver and consumes his body, ultimately perishing from the poison. Simultaneously, Paul expels the parasite from his system, now cured of the mutation.
After they exit the building later on, Paul points out that not only did he make it through the night, but he also found himself in possession of Oliver’s vehicle, which is conveniently parked outside.
Bad Ending 1 – The Mother Kills Everyone
In their attempt to incriminate Oliver and his group, Paul and Sarah secretly record their recent meeting and capture footage of Oliver’s mother. However, during the course of events, Sarah ends up knocking out Oliver and injecting him with a harmful substance. Unfortunately, in the chaos that follows, the Mother seizes not only Oliver but also everyone present, including Paul’s wife Lily, and drags them all into her enclosure. Tragically, she then proceeds to kill everyone, leaving no witnesses behind and seemingly destroying any evidence of their scheme.
Bad Ending 2 – Paul Murders Sarah and Gets Killed by the Mother
As a gamer, if I found myself in this scenario, I’d say: In an alternative path, I decided to take Sarah’s life with an axe, a choice that was both good and bad for me. Then, I faced Oliver on my own. Regrettably, the parasite within me took over, causing me to collapse. In the end, Oliver unlocked Mother’s enclosure, sealing my fate. I met a grim end in those moments.
Bad Ending 3 – Oliver Feeds Paul to the Mother
In a less complex scenario of an unfavorable outcome, after exploring multiple compounds and returning to the central station (Hub), Oliver encounters Paul who is overcome by his illness and immobile. Seeing no other choice, Oliver unlocks the Mother’s enclosure and offers Paul as food for the beast, thereby concluding the game instantly.
Based on your interactions with Lily throughout the game, Oliver could potentially capture and end Lily’s life, hinting that her destiny lies within the Grinder.
Bad Ending 4 – Sarah Dies and Paul Kills Oliver
In this grim turn of events, it’s disclosed that Oliver ultimately took Sarah’s life by killing her, then feeding her to a character known as the Mother. On the verge of repeating the same act with Paul, Oliver halts, brandishing an axe instead. Tragically, Oliver meets his end shortly thereafter, and the game concludes abruptly.
Bad Ending 5 – Paul Mutates and Kills Oliver (and Possibly Sarah)
In one scenario, the grim outcome finds Paul completely transforming under the influence of the parasite. In one such situation, Paul turns violent and attacks Oliver when he tries to inspect him on the train. Tragically, Oliver meets his demise at the hands of this mutated form of Paul.
In another situation, it’s at the workplace restroom where Sarah secures Paul for safety concerns. After several hours have elapsed and daylight breaks, Oliver goes to check on Paul. Upon opening the bathroom door, Paul immediately assaults Oliver. Sarah observes this altercation, and in response, Paul pursues and murders her too.
Bad Ending 6 – Oliver Ambushes Lily at the Door
In this unfavorable conclusion, as dawn breaks, Paul attempts to connect with his wife at the exit door who informs him she’s prepared breakfast for him, consisting of some of the meat he provided along with their daughter, Gina. However, Oliver makes an entrance, either rendering Lily unconscious or causing her death off-camera. He proceeds indoors and transports them both to the Mother’s confinement. With a chilling tone, he hints that his wife will serve as a delectable dessert. The game concludes with him feeding them both to the Mother.
