The popular zombie comedy series, which began in 2009 and became a box office success, might not be over. A sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap, was released in 2019, suggesting the possibility of future installments.
With a decade having passed since the original, a continuation of the story seems possible. Director Ruben Fleischer recently discussed the potential for Zombieland 3 and hinted that it could still happen, even after all this time.
Director Louis Fleischer’s newest film, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, is the third movie in the popular magician heist series. It brings back Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson, who previously starred together in a series about a zombie apocalypse.
Okay, so the director just dropped some awesome news! It sounds like they’re actually starting to plan Zombieland 3! They’re thinking 2029, which makes sense because the first movie was in 2009 and the second in 2019. At the end of Zombieland 2, they basically hinted at a reunion in ten years, and that time is almost here. He says they’re starting to brainstorm ideas, and he’s really hopeful it’ll happen. He also has other projects in the works, so we’ll have to wait and see which one gets made first, but I’m already so excited about the possibility of another Zombieland movie!
The movie Zombieland was a hit with both critics and audiences. It currently has an 89% approval rating from critics and an 86% rating from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes. In fact, critics said it proved that zombie movies still had plenty of life left in them, all before The Walking Dead became popular a year later.
