Even though Zoë Kravitz had an impressive background in film production, she didn’t immediately feel ready to shout “Action!” when directing “Blink Twice” for the first time.
“Zoë Kravitz described it as quite exhilarating. She found herself exclaiming, ‘Let’s move!’ due to the tension caused by the command ‘Action!’, at the premiere of her directorial debut in Los Angeles,” or more casually, “At the LA premiere of her first directorial effort, Zoë Kravitz admitted that she blurted out ‘Let’s go!’ instead of ‘Action!’ because it made her nervous.”
“Blink Twice”: The account of two companions, Naomi Ackie and Alia Shawkat, who receive an invitation from tech tycoon Channing Tatum to join him and other associates (Christian Slater, Simon Rex, Haley Joel Osment, and Levon Hawke) on his secluded island. However, after several days of heavy drinking and drug use, things start to unravel.
In an earlier phase, Channing Tatum reminisced about filming a preview for “Blink Twice”. He remarked, “I could sense we were headed for a genuine creative struggle, which is exactly why it turned out to be such an exceptional film.”
Speaking as a movie enthusiast, let me share my thoughts on Zoë Kravitz’s directorial skills, as witnessed by Naomi Ackie: “After the initial take, we were all in awe, exclaiming, ‘Bravo, you’ve got this!’ Directing a film requires a multitude of tasks and a firm grasp of many aspects. Zoë handled it all so gracefully. As someone who easily becomes overwhelmed, her resilience was truly inspiring. We were shooting in the heart of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula during summertime, and let me tell you, things weren’t always smooth sailing.”
During the movie’s production, it was not snakes causing trouble but rather spiders that presented challenges to the cast and team. Ackie shared his experiences, mentioning the presence of baby scorpions, tarantulas, as well as being bitten by fire ants. He admitted that he was responsible for these encounters since he ignored a warning sign about fire ants in a specific area, and unfortunately, stepped there.
Despite my rock star father, Lenny Kravitz, missing the Los Angeles premiere of the movie, he graced the red carpet at the London premiere shortly afterward. Beyond being a proud father, he even made a special appearance in the film itself.
“It’s for a split second,” Zoë Kravitz said of her father’s cameo, laughing.
Zoe Kravitz, the “American Woman” singer, is known for her honesty. A video clip of her father, Lenny Kravitz, working out in a gym was shared on Instagram by Ackie’s character. The footage shows Lenny wearing a transparent tank top, leather pants, and sunglasses. According to Zoe, she found the idea amusing.
In the movie “Blink Twice,” Zoë Kravitz’s mother, Lisa Bonet, isn’t physically present. However, as Zoë explained, her mother was there in a spiritual sense, providing her with constant support and serving as her emotional foundation throughout the entire filming process.
Indeed, I couldn’t help but inquire about the possibility of “Big Little Lies” having a third season, given that Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Zoë Kravitz have mentioned working on a new installment to EbMaster. Kravitz seems optimistic, expressing her eagerness for the development of the script.
