YouTuber rejects “fire hazard” fears as her 12ft disco-ball Halloween skeleton goes viral

As a seasoned gamer and DIY enthusiast with a penchant for all things creative, I must say that Ali Spagnola’s 12-foot disco ball skeleton is nothing short of breathtaking! This intricate masterpiece showcases her dedication to craftsmanship and the sheer limitlessness of human imagination.

YouTube personality Ali Spagnola has garnered widespread attention due to her creation of a 12-foot tall disco ball skeleton for Halloween celebrations, causing some spectators to express concerns about potential fire risks associated with the display.

Ali Spagnola’s DIY crafts and projects, which can be found on YouTube with over 2 million subscribers and TikTok with 1.9 million followers, have significantly boosted her influence and fame in the online world.

On the 13th of October, I excitedly shared a behind-the-scenes video on my TikTok page about the labor of love that resulted in my latest masterpiece – a colossal 12-foot skeleton meticulously adorned with thousands of tiny mirrors.

Following a nine-day, 70-hour labor, the craftsperson meticulously adhered half a million miniature mirror shards to every inch of the colossal Halloween ornament.

With the video spreading rapidly on TikTok, numerous users expressed concerns in the comment section about the potential fire risk posed by the sunlight reflecting off the multitude of mirrors in the decoration.

“All I think is fire hazard hahaha,” one user commented.

Another said: “Isn’t that a fire hazard cause of the mirrors tho.”

“Gorgeous. But could cause a fire in direct sunlight,” a third replied.

In an interview with the New York Post, she dismissed concerns about potential fire hazards, asserting that her invention was secure. She even reached out to a “YouTube expert” to verify its safety.

She explained, “He’s more of a showman than a threat.” She continued, “You see, the disco ball is just reflecting light everywhere instead of focusing it into beams that could potentially spark a fire.

Contrary to concerns that it might ignite a fire, Ali shares that the skeleton has gained quite a following among her neighbors. Due to its towering presence over her fence and occasional intrusion into other yards, she’s inviting her fellow residents and trick-or-treaters to take photos with this unique statue.

Italian-born Spagnola mentioned that she might continue to display her creation all through December, using it as festive winter decoration adorned with twinkling Christmas lights.

In October, her creation became the most recent topic to explode in popularity on TikTok. The Interpretive Dance challenge, where users dance to gain approval for certain tasks, has swept through the short-video platform like a tempest.
