A YouTuber successfully played World of Warcraft using an unusual controller: hot dogs! They managed to defeat a boss by controlling their character with the meaty snacks.
After his supporters reached a fundraising goal during a recent livestream, Addison2k shared a video detailing how he completed a challenging game run – using only his body, and no keyboard or mouse!
He began by creating two simple controllers using a 3D printer and plastic. Each controller had four openings. Instead of using typical buttons or joysticks, he inserted a hot dog into each of these holes.
After connecting each sensor, he could control the character simply by touching the sausage-shaped controllers. The left hand controls movement, while the right hand handles attacks and special abilities.
YouTuber beats WoW run using eight hot dogs
Despite struggling with camera control and dodging – often getting stuck while trying to move – Addison2k played surprisingly well using this aggressive approach, helping his team defeat the first few bosses.
He did confess to briefly using a cheat when his target got caught on a defeated enemy. Luckily, he hadn’t accidentally assigned the tab key to a strange function, so he was able to quickly switch back to his keyboard and fix the problem so he could keep playing.
Even though they had one small issue, the YouTuber and his team successfully defeated all the bosses in the game. However, the run wasn’t without its difficulties.
During the session, the sausages unfortunately warmed up, which wasn’t ideal. He also mentioned later that his hands smelled like hotdogs for hours afterwards, suggesting the experience had a lasting effect.
It’s technically possible to play World of Warcraft using just hot dogs, plastic materials, and a lot of imagination. However, that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.
