YouTube Launches $7.99 Premium Lite: Still Ads, Half the Price

YouTube officially announced that a less expensive version of YouTube Premium will soon be available in the United States. However, this lower-priced plan may still display advertisements based on the content being watched.

It’s been whispered for a while that Premium Lite will make its debut, and it seems that people in Australia, Thailand, and Germany are among the first to try out this fresh offering.

Starting on March 5th, YouTube announced that a more affordable version of its Premium service, called Premium Lite, will be available in the U.S. This new option offers users a less expensive choice compared to the regular Premium version, but without some of the additional features it provides.

Regrettably, for individuals tired of advertisements, Premium Lite doesn’t eliminate all ads, but its reduced price – slightly more than half the current Premium fee – reflects this adjustment.

Instead of paying $13.99 monthly for the standard Premium version, you can opt for Premium Lite at just $7.99 instead.

Google stated that they’ve been examining the Premium Lite version to ensure a suitable mix of attributes and advantages for viewers seeking an advertisement-free experience across various genres like gaming, humor, culinary arts, and education.

While the majority of videos will be devoid of ads, advertising is expected to continue appearing on music videos, Shorts, as well as during your searches or while browsing for content.

Premium Lite also won’t allow background play or let users download videos to watch later.
