YouTube deleted Falcons’ legitimate channel after complaints about scam CS2 ads

YouTube inadvertently removed Team Falcon’s genuine channel following allegations of fraudulent advertisements. Fortunately, the situation has been resolved.

Over the past several years, fraudulent streams and advertisements for various products have proliferated on Twitch and YouTube. Notable figures such as Elon Musk, MrBeast, PewDiePie, and esports stars like s1mple have unfortunately been manipulated by swindlers to attempt to defraud fans out of their money.

These free cryptocurrency streams and ads often seem genuine at first glance, but upon closer inspection, they’re usually scams. A telltale sign is the channel name, as they might use a zero rather than an O in words like Elon to deceive viewers.

On occasion, genuine platforms and organizations like the esports group Falcons can unintentionally face fallout due to scammers’ activities.

Many gamers and spectators, including NiKo, requested YouTube to take down the problematic advertisements. Contrary to their expectations, however, it was the genuine YouTube channel of the team (Falcons) that was taken down on June 11, not the misleading ads.

According to Erik ‘fl0m’ Flom, who shared his update on platform X (previously known as Twitter), neither the ads nor his legitimate falconsCS account remain on YouTube. To put it mildly, he finds this situation hard to believe and expressed his disbelief with “You can’t make this stuff up.

However, there is no word as to whether or not they’ve blocked the scam adverts.
