As I delve into these rising stars, it’s fascinating to witness their journeys and how they navigate the complexities of life and careers. Mikey Madison, at just 25, has already left an indelible impression on audiences with her captivating performances. Her transformation from Max in “Better Things” to a Russian oligarch’s son’s love interest is truly remarkable. It seems like she’s flipping scripts faster than a chameleon changes colors!
In the Young Hollywood Impact Report published by EbMaster, several rising talents have left a significant impression across various sectors such as film, television, music, theater, and digital media. These upcoming stars are set to be honored at an event on August 8 at the Santa Monica Proper Hotel. Following last year’s strikes, these young actors are thrilled to return to their sets. Freya Allan expressed her joy about working on “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” stating that it was a pleasure to collaborate with such genuine and amiable co-stars. Despite being part of a big-budget production, she found the atmosphere to be surprisingly intimate, and there was no sense of hierarchy – everyone was simply doing what they loved.
Despite their hectic schedules, there’s always time set aside for binge-watching. Actor Solly McLeod shares, “I’m not particularly good at keeping up with new movies, but I’ve been improving! I’m really into ‘The Bear’ at the moment, and ‘Baby Reindeer’ was a favorite of mine earlier this year.” He continues, “I’ve heard great things about ‘Severance’ on Apple TV, so that’s next up for me to watch.”
According to musician Benson Boone, his success leaves him genuinely astounded when he reflects upon it. Despite their tireless efforts, those on this list understand that their journey is far from over.
Freya Allan
The 22-year-old British actor who gained fame from “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” (grossing $397 million worldwide) is set to return as Princess Cirilla in the upcoming season of Netflix’s “The Witcher.” Here’s a sneak peek into Season 4: Allan hints that we might witness a complex romantic entanglement for the character, leading her to explore a dark and brutal side of herself while also experiencing some freedom. Allan describes this transformation as both challenging and liberating, as it allows him to delve into something new and potentially shocking.
Iain Armitage
In July, Armitage concluded his seventh and last season playing the title role in “Young Sheldon,” which consistently drew high ratings for CBS. He also received an award at “The Kids’ Choice Awards” that month. To celebrate his 16th birthday, he flew his grandmother in a small airplane as part of his pilot training. Now, he is planning the next phase of his career, expressing his eagerness to explore diverse and unusual roles: “I feel like I’m in a great spot to venture out and try new and quirky things, which is exactly what I want to do.”
Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Dallas Liu, Ian Ousley, Elizabeth Yu
“Avatar: The Last Airbender”
The actors’ commitment to their roles has significantly contributed to the success of the live-action adaptation. At the age of 14 and 11 during auditions, Corimer admits he was unaware of the duties that lay ahead when he initially landed the part. Yu, now 21, found a deeper appreciation for the story as an adult while re-watching during the audition process, describing it as “an exceptional portrayal encompassing various aspects of family, loss, friendship, and ambition.” Kiawentiio, aged 18, felt tunnel vision aided her in securing the role. Ousley, 22, recalls being unsure about the specific character he was auditioning for, which he believes provided him with the creative liberty to inject his own personality into the character without any pre-existing pressure. Liu, also 22, claims he already had a strong understanding of the material due to his childhood fandom of the property before even reading the script.
Finn Bennett
After a span of fourteen years since his debut on screen, Bennett, now 25 years old, captured attention with his portrayal of Peter Prior in HBO’s “True Detective: Night Country.” This versatile British-Irish actor is presently filming his character as the ruthless prince Aerion for HBO’s “Game of Thrones” prequel series titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.” Reflecting on his success, he shared, “I make an effort to remember that it can vanish just as swiftly as it appeared, so I’m focused on enjoying this moment in time.”
Vic Blends
24-year-old Blends, originally from North Carolina, has amassed significant fanbases on TikTok (15 million), Instagram (3.6 million), and Facebook (2 million) through his uplifting videos where he discusses profound topics while providing complimentary haircuts to people. He’s also extended his business endeavors with the online VicBlends Barber Academy and the clothing line and lifestyle brand, Planted. His right-side facial tattoo, which reads ‘planted’, symbolizes his commitment to staying grounded in all his ventures.
Benson Boone
Globally, “Beautiful Things” by Boone amassed an impressive 1.43 billion on-demand audio streams in the year 2024, making it the most streamed song of that year and landing him a place in Spotify’s exclusive “Billions” club. Speaking to EbMaster, the 22-year-old artist expressed his amazement, stating, “When I reflect on everything, it honestly leaves me speechless.” In addition to a sold-out world tour for his debut album, “Fireworks & Rollerblades,” and being chosen as the opening act for Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour in London, Boone has had quite a successful year.
Maya Boyd
As a 21-year-old theater enthusiast, I juggled my final year at the University of Michigan with my Broadway debut in the Tony-winning show “Merrily We Roll Along.” With performances in New York and classes via Zoom, I managed to graduate while learning on the fly. The production served as both my job and a classroom. My colleagues were not just co-stars, but also mentors who guided me through this incredible journey. Now, I’m thrilled to step into the lead role of “& Juliet,” continuing my education in the world of theater.
Emma Chamberlain
Ever since transforming my YouTube popularity into an entrepreneurial triumph with the debut of Chamberlain Coffee in December 2019, I’ve been expanding my sphere of impact. From my engaging podcast “Anything Goes,” voice acting gigs, to regular presenting roles at the Met Gala, each step has been a thrilling journey. This year, I was absolutely smitten with my Met Gala look. It was like my stylist, Jean Paul Gaultier, and I had collaboratively given birth to an exquisite dress that beautifully embodied our creative union.
NLA Choppa
21-year-old NLE Choppa boasts an impressive portfolio with over 8.3 billion streams, earning him 17 RIAA-awarded plaques. His latest album, “Cottonwood 2” under No Love Entertainment/Warner, reached No. 9 on the R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart in 2023. Born and raised in Memphis, this young artist has given back to his community, initiating the NLE Reading Challenge that encouraged at-risk elementary students to read 40 million words. He also led the peaceful “Skate for Tyre” protest following the tragic death of Tyre Nichols.
Alex Consani
20-year-old transgender model and social media sensation Consani has strutted the runway for almost every major designer, such as Versace and Alexander McQueen, and graced ad campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Margiela Fragrance. However, it was TikTok that truly propelled her into popular culture, with her massive following often making her videos go viral. In her spare time, the always-busy Consani has been catching up on “The Act.”
FLO: Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma, Renée Downer
As one of their passionate fans, I’m thrilled to share that Douglas (22), Quaresma (22), and Downer (21) have recently dropped their single “Check” and are currently working on their first studio album. These talented singers have immersed themselves in the raw energy of tour life, with notable experiences such as their debut U.S. festival performance at Coachella in April. For us, Coachella has always been the epitome of music festivals, and to have graced its stage so early in our career is a true highlight. It was also an excellent warm-up for the upcoming tour supporting Kehlani, which we can’t wait to embark upon!
Kaia Gerber
At age 22, Gerber, who’s following in her supermodel mother Cindy Crawford’s footsteps, transitioned from modeling to acting. She can now be seen in the edgy comedy “Bottoms” and Apple TV+’s “Palm Royale.” Upcoming roles include Jason Reitman’s anticipated project, “Saturday Night.” Off-screen, Gerber’s book club, Library Science, is flourishing. In her leisure time, she delves into the correspondence between writers such as Jack Gilbert and Linda Greg, as well as Henry Miller and Anaïs Nin. She also finds herself rewatching “Girls” for what feels like the hundredth time.
Millie Gibson
For the past year, Gibson, aged 20, has traversed the universe alongside Doctor Who’s companion, Ruby Sunday, in the recently aired BBC series version, with Rwandan-Scottish actor Ncuti Gatwa breaking boundaries as the first Black, queer Doctor. According to Gibson, her goal was to infuse the show with energy and liveliness; Ruby Sunday is the youngest companion yet. She’s a displaced child, a foundling, but her contagious exuberance and charm draw the Doctor’s attention as they embark on their adventures together. Gibson attributes this successful portrayal to showrunner Russell T. Davis for placing his trust in her to develop Ruby Sunday’s unique spirit and warmth that audiences can embrace with affection.
Ariana Greenblatt
Over the past year, Greenblatt has had an extraordinary time. She ran from dinosaurs alongside Adam Driver in the movie “65”, displayed her Force skills as a young Ahsoka Tano in “Ahsoka”, and earned a Critics’ Choice Award nomination for best young actor in the blockbuster “Barbie”. One scene she is particularly proud of is her “destroy Barbie” scene with Margot Robbie, as it was her audition scene and the first one she learned for Sasha. In the near future, you can catch Greenblatt in “Borderlands”.
Kahlil Greene
As a passionate historian of my generation, I’ve earned the nickname “Gen Z Historian.” At just 24 years old, I made history by becoming Yale’s first Black student body president. Since then, I’ve carved out a unique career as an “edutainer,” blending education with entertainment on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn. My series “Uncovering the Hidden History of Racism in New York City” won a 2023 Peabody Award, and I’m currently collaborating with Mark McKinnon (of “The Circus”) on a documentary about Gen Z politics. I’ve also signed a deal with National Geographic for a YouTube docuseries and am writing a book for Penguin Random House. History has always been my tool for finding effective solutions to contemporary issues, as it equips me with a rich vocabulary of past events to analyze and learn from.
Joe Locke, Kit Connor
As a dedicated movie buff, I can’t help but share my excitement about the meteoric rise of the British series “Heartstopper” on Netflix. The duo portraying the adored main couple from the comic book adaptation has truly stolen our hearts! In the interim, before season 3 airs in October, one of them, Connor (age 20), is set to grace Broadway as Romeo in “Romeo & Juliet,” sharing the stage with Rachel Zegler. Other upcoming projects for Connor include A24’s “Warfare” and DreamWorks animation’s “The Wild Robot,” alongside Lupita Nyong’o. He can hardly wait to revisit the theater, finding it an incredibly rewarding creative outlet, stating, “It’s one of the best ways for actors to hone their skills.”
Wisdom Kaye
As a content creator myself, I can appreciate the meteoric rise of this 23-year-old TikTok and YouTube sensation. Born and raised in Houston, Kaye’s journey to fame is nothing short of inspiring. He made his Met Gala debut this year, leaving 11 million followers enamored with his stunning presence.
Joey King
24-year-old King has smoothly moved from being a child actor to an adult one, taking on an impressively varied collection of roles. These range from the factual Holocaust miniseries “We Were the Lucky Ones” to the romantic comedy “A Family Affair”, and the upcoming sci-fi action film “Uglies”, which she also produced. She commented, “The funniest films can sometimes be the most challenging to make, and those with difficult themes often have a lot of happiness associated with them.”
Laufey
Originally hailing from Reykjavik, Laufey (pronounced as ‘LAY-vay’), born to an Icelandic father and a Chinese classical violinist mother, started off 2024 with a Grammy triumph for her second album “Bewitched” (AWAL). This masterpiece, a blend of jazz, classical, and modern pop genres, was her winning ticket. Reflecting on the recent past, Laufey, a graduate from Berklee College of Music, shared, “I’ve been pondering lately about how I’ve evolved into the musician I yearned for when I was younger.” With her upcoming August concert at the Hollywood Bowl already sold out.
Milo Machado-Graner
15-year-old actor who played the lead in “Anatomy of a Fall” was the driving force behind the Oscar-winning film, captivating both audiences and fellow actors – including canine actor Messi – with his mesmerizing performances. He recently completed Arnaud Desplechin’s “Spectateurs!”, where he shared screen time with French acting greats Mathieu Amalric and Françoise Lebrun. Did he pick up any tricks from them? “Absolutely, yes!” Machado-Graner shares. “We delved into different emotions. I had a mountain of lines to memorize; it was tough, but it taught me so much.” In fact, the director’s method – taking her time and shooting multiple takes – encouraged him to dig deeper, as he found that when he was exhausted, he was closer to uncovering the truth.
Lizzy McAlpine
Following the viral success of my 2023 hit “Ceilings” on TikTok, I found myself in Pasadena, dedicating time to refine the raw sound that defines my third album, “Older,” released in April. In a conversation with EbMaster, I admitted, “I simply wish to concentrate on the art.” This decision has since led to a string of sold-out North American shows, including two nights at L.A.’s Greek Theater and two nights at Radio City Music Hall.
Maleah Joi Moon
As a movie reviewer, I’d rephrase it like this: “In the Broadway production of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’, a semi-autobiographical Alicia Keys musical, Moon brilliantly portrays Ali. Joining the project during its Off Broadway premiere at The Public Theater, she continued her journey when the show transferred, earning a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical. This incredible achievement came to her just after graduating high school in 2020, making her one of the youngest recipients of this prestigious award.”
NewJeans: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein
Ever since their debut in July 2022, the five-member K-pop group NewJeans (consisting of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) has been dominating the music scene. They’ve spent 37 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Global 200 chart, a record among any female K-pop act. With over 4.3 billion streams, they’ve also secured partnerships with prominent brands such as Coca-Cola, Apple, and Levi’s. In essence, they’re currently the beloved darlings of K-pop, and with their recent releases “Bubble Gum” and “How Sweet” in May, they’re preparing for a monumental world tour by 2025.

Mekai Curtis, Hailey Kilgore
“Power Book III: Raising Kanan”
As an engaged movie critic, I must admit that being privy to the upcoming surprises in the gripping crime family drama “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” on Starz is not something the producers often share with Kanan, played by Curtis, aged 23, and his cousin Jukebox, portrayed by Kilgore, 25. Nevertheless, they occasionally insist. According to Kilgore, who previously made a significant impression as Ti Moune in the 2017-2019 Broadway revival of “Once on This Island,” having this advanced knowledge helps her shape her performance throughout the season. Curtis adds his thoughts: “This foreknowledge has granted me the foresight, understanding, and maturity required to manage the speed and complexity that comes with leading a show.”
Michael Rainey Jr.
In the second half of the fourth and last season of “Power Book II: Ghost” on Starz, which doesn’t air until September, Rainey, aged 23, wrapped up his role as Tariq St. Patrick, a troubled member of a crime family, over a year ago. This extra time has allowed him to delve into various artistic ventures beyond acting. As he explains, “I have a passion for music and beat-making.” Moreover, he is collaborating with a group of writers on scripts for films and television series.
Tommy Richman
As a music enthusiast, I’ve been thrilled with my recent collaborations under Brent Faiyaz’s ISO Supremacy label. In April, I shared a sneak peek of “Million Dollar Baby” on TikTok, which eventually soared to the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 just two weeks later. Since then, the dance craze that swept across the platform has been infectious, keeping me at the top of the TikTok Top 50 chart for a remarkable 10 weeks now.
Dominic Sessa
In his first major role in the critically acclaimed film “The Holdovers,” which earned Oscar nominations, New Jersey native Sessa was recognized by EbMaster on their list of 10 Actors to Watch in 2023. Particularly memorable for him was a poignant dinner scene shared with Paul Giamatti; he expressed pride that during these moments, director Alexander Payne often rushed to the next scene, indicating that something had been executed effectively each time.
Hunter Schafer
The Berlin festival’s standout film “Cuckoo,” set for release by Neon, showcases the versatility of Zoe Schafer, the 25-year-old actress who was recently cast alongside Michelle Yeoh in Amazon Prime Video’s “Blade Runner 2099” series. Regarding her performance in “Cuckoo,” Schafer expresses, “Usually when I watch myself, I need to shield my eyes. But for this movie, I didn’t have to.” She further notes, “I felt really confident about my acting in this film.” Additionally, Schafer is set to appear in A24’s “Mother Mary” with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, and graced the red carpet at Cannes for Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Kinds of Kindness.”
Cailee Spaeny
Spanish actress, aged 25, captivated both critics and viewers portraying Priscilla Presley in Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla,” receiving a best actress award at the Venice Film Festival and a nomination for a Golden Globe. She shared her thoughts on the experience: “I believe everyone rallied together, and no one got much rest during that month. However, we all persevered because of our passion for the film, the narrative, and Sofia.” This year, she appeared in the blockbuster “Civil War,” is set to star in “Alien: Romulus,” and has been selected for the third installment of the “Knives Out” movie series.
Ayra Starr
Over the course of a year prior to the release of her sophomore album “The Year I Turned 21” (Mavin-Republic Records), the 22-year-old Beninese-Nigerian artist undertook her first world tour, amassed over a billion streams on Spotify, earned a Grammy nomination, and made history as the first Nigerian female artist to chart on the Billboard 200. To many, this was astonishing, but even more shocking was the fact that she gained a fan in Rihanna: “You never imagine you’ll ever meet her and become one of her favorite artists.”
Manuel Turizo
At 24 years old, Turizo has firmly established himself as a significant player in the Latin music scene, thanks to his hit single “La Bachata.” This song earned him the title of the second most-streamed solo Latin track on Spotify, and he achieved US platinum status and 26 times Latin platinum status in 2023. As he gears up for the release of his fourth studio album, “201,” due out this fall, the Miami-based Colombian artist has become a regular at Paris Fashion Week, sitting front row at shows by Fendi, Dior, and Balmain.
Izzy G, Aiyana Goodfellow, Chloe Guidry, Vritika Gupta, Javon Walton
As a passionate cinephile, I’ve been captivated by the exceptional ensemble of “Under the Bridge,” a gripping Hulu crime series set in the 1990s that has garnered critical acclaim. For me, playing my character required meticulous preparation – delving deep into the details, including the atmosphere of Saanich, where the series is filmed. Walton, another talented cast member, adopted method acting for his role and kept a journal about his character Warren while immersing himself in the 1990s culture, from rap music to baggy clothing. Goodfellow found developing Dusty’s character required a keen focus on her voice – not just her unique accent but also the tone, cadence, and how it influenced her physicality. Gupta, one of our youngest cast members, emphasized the importance of understanding her character’s traits, such as her specific mannerisms like smiling or lowering her voice in certain situations. Izzy G knew she had to bring humanity to Kelly, ensuring she was more than just a headline by humanizing her without passing judgment.
Xavi
Originally from Arizona, the artist who garnered Interscope execs’ attention on social platforms kicked off 2024 with his smash hit “La Diabla” climbing to No. 1 on Spotify’s Global 200 chart. By merging R&B, pop, urban sounds with Mexican music, the 20-year-old expresses that his Poco a Poco tour was the pinnacle of his year. “The name reflects our gradual pursuit of dreams,” he explains, dreams that will soon lead him to completing his debut album and assisting his family in opening a new restaurant.
Ji-young Yoo
In 2023, Yoo garnered recognition at the Tribeca Festival honoree “Smoking Tigers,” receiving the performance award for a U.S. narrative feature. This year, Yoo has made an impact in the Amazon Prime Video series “Expats,” sharing screen time with Nicole Kidman and Sarayu Blue as Mercy, who becomes entwined in the series’ central tragic event. Lulu Wang, the showrunner of “Expats,” praised Yoo to EbMaster, saying, “Ji-young has a remarkably expressive face that conveys so much without needing many gestures. Her subtle performances are filled with depth.”
Omar Rudberg, Edvin Ryding
“Young Royals”
The young stars of the popular Swedish Netflix series “Young Royals” have experienced a surge in their careers. At age 21, Ryding will be seen next in Danny Boyle’s film “28 Years Later,” sharing screen time with Cillian Murphy and Jodie Comer. At 25, Rudberg, who initially gained fame as a member of the boy band FO&O, has since become a successful solo artist and recently introduced a unisex fragrance under the beauty brand OMR. What series have they been enjoying lately? Ryding mentions “The Bear,” praising its unique writing and exceptional performances. Rudberg recommends the Swedish drama “Threesome,” highlighting the strong chemistry among the main actors.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the rapid rise of this 20-year-old Dallas native. When he dropped his debut track in 2023, it gained momentum swiftly and hasn’t slowed down since. In just half a year, this R&B artist has accumulated over 2.5 million streams on Spotify, earning endorsements from music giants like SZA and Drake. To my delight, Drake even collaborated with him on the remix of “act ii: date @ 8” in March. And just two months later, his debut mixtape climbed to No. 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B albums chart, boasting a remix by none other than the legendary Ye. It’s been an incredible journey witnessing this talent ascend!

Up Next: Lily Collias
At age 19, Collias emerged unexpectedly, garnering acclaim at Sundance and Cannes for her portrayal of Sam, a 17-year-old character, in the movie “Good One.” This role involved navigating the escalating conflicts between her father (played by James Le Gros) and his friend (Danny McCarthy), during their backpacking adventure. “My life has been turned upside down, and I’m incredibly thankful for it,” she shares. However, she remains in the same small room in New York, residing in the same apartment. Her next project is a movie titled “Altar” from A24.
Up Next: Mikey Madison
At 25 years old, Madison has left a significant impression on viewers through her five-season role as the complex older daughter Max on FX’s “Better Things,” and she’s also made unforgettable impactful performances in “Scream” (2022) and Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” (2019), where she played Susan Atkins, a member of the Manson family. Now, her performance as an exotic dancer who develops a romantic relationship with the son of a Russian oligarch in writer-director Sean Baker’s Cannes Palme d’Or-winning film “Anora” is creating quite a stir and generating buzz for awards season.

Up Next: Helen J. Shen
At age 24, Shen stepped into their first leading role in “Teeth” at Playwrights Horizons, coinciding with the news they were cast as Claire in the upcoming musical “Maybe Happy Ending.” This marks their Broadway debut, where they share the stage with Darren Criss and director Michael Arden, who has won a Tony Award. Shen describes Claire as an intriguing character: “A bit peculiar, but that’s what makes her so much fun,” she says. “I have to find the right balance between being human and playing a non-human character. Claire’s unique view of the world is a privilege to portray.”
Up Next: Maisy Stella
At twenty years old, Stella has been a part of the industry since she was young, but it wasn’t until January at Sundance with the release of “My Old Ass” that she truly made a significant impact.
