You’ll Never Guess Who Is in Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Personal Fantastic Four

It’s characteristic of Desi to give a deep, thoughtful response to a seemingly casual question on the red carpet. When asked by a BBC reporter who would be in their own personal Fantastic Four, the members of the Fantastic Four team typically gave generic replies such as “this cast ❤️” or “my family ❤️”. However, Ebon Moss-Bachrach opted for a unique answer. He named John Coltrane, Faye Dunaway, Oliver Sachs, and Ursula K. Le Guin, revealing some personal influences that hold great significance to him.

There are two perspectives from which we can view this list. Firstly, it could be considered as a group of four characters that Moss-Bachrach would include in his coven or sit with at lunch, similar to the members of the Fantastic Four. Secondly, if he were to bestow the powers of the Marvel Fantastic Four upon these individuals, here’s how I’d allocate them:

1. Sachs would be ideal for The Thing’s powers due to his resilience and ability to handle the drawbacks that come with this power set.
2. Dunaway would receive stretch powers, as Hollywood can be harsh on women’s aging, and Mr. Fantastic’s powers could serve as a kind of anti-aging treatment (similar to Elasti-Woman on “Doom Patrol”).
3. Coltrane would get the Invisible Woman’s powers, as I’m intrigued by how forcefields might affect acoustics in performance and recording.
4. Le Guin would be endowed with the ability to ignite like a dragon, because dragons are her forte.

So, who would you include in your Fantastic Four, and which jazz legend would you choose to grant invisibility powers to? Share your thoughts below!
