You Won’t Believe Who’s REALLY Hosting Your Favorite Radio Show…

As a dedicated listener, I found myself deceived when I thought I was tuning into a genuine human host on Australian radio – only to discover later that she was an artificially intelligent creation instead!

Without disclosing it, Sydney’s Australian radio station CADA kept listeners unaware that the host of their The Workdays with Thy program was an artificial intelligence.

Listeners enjoyed a mix of hip-hop, R&B, pop, and dance music on the four-hour radio show for half a year.

On workdays, between 11am and 3pm, as you’re traveling, whether it’s your daily commute using public transportation, driving a car, or attending university, CADA’s website explains that they will be playing the most popular tracks from around the globe for you.

Yet, it remained undisclosed that Thy was fictional, and only when substantial doubts were raised did the truth come to light.

AI radio host dupes thousands

According to a report by Stephanie Coombes from The Carpet, they had no visible social media presence beyond the single photo available on CADA’s page.

“It seems she was photographed just once and then promptly turned invisible,” she explained.

After closely examining the audio clips, I noticed an interesting pattern: when my favorite host used the phrase “old school” on two separate occasions, her voice seemed remarkably alike. It’s like she had a secret time machine that transported her back to the good old days!

It’s interesting to note that the AI known as Thy was created by the voice-cloning company, ElevenLabs. The owner of CADA, ARN Media, disclosed to The Financial Review that Thy’s voice and visual representation were based on a genuine employee.

In a since-removed LinkedIn post, ARN project leader Fayed Tohme described Thy’s project as one that challenges the very definition of ‘live radio’.

The program that started in November 2024 is said to have an audience of more than 70,000 people, as indicated by the ratings from March.

Teresa Lim, Vice President of the Australian Association of Voice Actors, commented that CADA (Company/Organization name) ought to have been open about the artificial intelligence host, yet currently, there are no regulations in Australia governing the use of AI within broadcasts.

She stated, “They ought to have openly admitted that the radio host was actually an artificial intelligence. The fact that there’s no indication of this makes people believe it’s a genuine individual.

People should also be cautious about AI models like Satsuki Ai, who made headlines in April by appearing on a Japanese edition of Playboy magazine.
