The grandest mythological production in the realm of Indian cinema is now materializing, with actor-producer Yash commencing the main filming for the epic “Ramayana.
Yash’s Monster Mind Creations and Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios are collaborating to bring the adaptation of an ancient Indian tale to life.
For the epic adaptation of this mythology, renowned stunt director Guy Norris, known for his work on “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “The Suicide Squad,” has been brought on board to plan out intricate action scenes designed explicitly for the grandeur of this project. At present, Norris is collaborating with Yash in India, where they are meticulously designing set pieces that could revolutionize Indian cinema’s handling of large-scale spectacle.
The upcoming two-part movie is being helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, who holds the record for the highest-grossing Indian film of all time with “Dangal.” Yash, famed for the action film series “K.G.F.,” has the second installment of which among the top five highest-grossing Indian movies ever made. Malhotra, CEO of visual effects giant DNEG, has contributed to seven films that won the VFX Oscar in recent years, including “Dune: Part One” and “Tenet.”

This captivating story chronicles the journey of Prince Rama, who spends fourteen years in exile. During this time, the wicked demon ruler Ravana kidnaps his beloved wife, Sita, which ultimately culminates in a thrilling showdown.
Initial photos unveiled from the production showcase actor Yash, who collaborates with Ranbir Kapoor as part of the main cast, in top shape, meticulously preparing himself to portray Ravana. The dedication of Yash is evident as he prepares for a demanding 60-70 day shooting schedule for “Ramayana Part 1.
The story has been reimagined for various screen versions, most notably Ramanand Sagar’s legendary 1987 TV series “Ramayan,” the 1993 animated adaptation titled “The Legend of Prince Rama,” and more recently in the 2023 film “Adipurush” featuring Prabhas.
