This year’s NBA playoffs in 2025 have been particularly thrilling because two longtime rivals are fighting for a spot in the Finals after many years. In a pivotal Game 4, the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers met at the Pacers’ home court. Famous personalities like Timothée Chalamet, Spike Lee, and Ben Stiller were present to support the Knicks. On the other hand, Pacers supporter Pat McAfee addressed the celebrities when whipping up the crowd.

After I hypothesized that he might have departed from WWE, McAfee delivered a speech at Gainbridge Fieldhouse which ignited the crowd’s enthusiasm. The host of one ESPN’s most popular shows incited the audience to jeer the high-profile Knicks fans in attendance, and Ben Stiller didn’t seem pleased with being singled out. You can view McAfee’s comments, as well as Stiller’s reaction, below:

As a huge fan of Ben Stiller, it’s clear that he’s one of the rare celebrities who genuinely engages with his followers on social media. Whether we’re discussing his enthusiasm for shows like “Severance” or bantering about the NBA, he’s always game. Although he didn’t expressly say he was upset with Pat McAfee over the recent incident, I think his use of terms like “weird” and emphasizing that other Pacers fans were fantastic, sends a pretty loud message about how he felt about the situation.

Although the comedian garnered backing from fellow New York Knicks supporters, some swiftly pointed out that the situation didn’t appear as malicious as he might have assumed. Stiller admitted to hearing the boos directed at him and other celebrities, but suggested they weren’t necessarily personal in nature. However, we’ll have to wait and see if this viewpoint remains valid when the teams return to Madison Square Garden.

Appreciate that. Just wouldn’t not happen in NY.

Ben Stiller’s timeless films continue to garner acclaim, and he’s undeniably an accomplished comedian. Yet, there’s a possibility that his fondness for New York might be clouding his judgment slightly. Intriguingly, New York firefighter Hans Perez was present at this particular game due to Tyrese Haliburton’s kindness, following a video of Knicks spectators throwing debris at him after a match that spread like wildfire online. While it might be unusual for celebrities to criticize each other during a basketball game in New York, it doesn’t mean there haven’t been instances of strife between the teams.

In terms of Pat McAfee, we’ll need to wait and see if he responds to Ben Stiller regarding his show. Given that McAfee is one of the numerous commentators who have worked for WWE in the past, I’m looking forward to seeing if he’ll engage in a possible rivalry.

As someone who follows wrestling closely, it wasn’t hard to notice that Triple H was present last night, and he has collaborated with Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Haliburton previously. If WWE decides to pursue a rumored rivalry between Pat McAfee and Ben Stiller, there could potentially be an unusual encounter among all four when SummerSlam takes place in East Rutherford, New Jersey this summer.

I’d love to watch that with a Peacock subscription, and perhaps Trips could unite them all. This is merely a hopeful thought on my end, but after the mention during the NBA game, I can envision a McAfee/Stiller confrontation being incredibly entertaining.

On Thursday, May 29th at 8:00 p.m. ET, the Pacers and Knicks will square off once more in a highly anticipated matchup within the 2025 sports schedule. This showdown promises to be a thrilling event for those seeking excitement, and it’s quite possible that Pat McAfee might be in attendance. Additionally, Ben Stiller could potentially seek his sweet revenge during this game.
