McDonald’s has revealed plans for a significant overhaul of their beverage selection, introducing more creative options in the future.

By the end of 2023, McDonald’s launched a new brand called CosMc’s, offering various drinks and meals similar to Starbucks.

Or simply:

In late 2023, McDonald’s debuted a spin-off chain called CosMc’s, serving beverages and food items reminiscent of Starbucks.

For example, the establishment served distinctive beverages like a S’mores Cold Brew and a Turmeric Spiced Latte, along with sandwiches such as a Spicy Queso Sandwich.

By January 2025, McDonald’s chose to close half of its CosMc’s outlets, with the remaining ones scheduled to shut down by June. Despite this, the closure of CosMc’s doesn’t mean McDonald’s is giving up on its popular menu items, as they have significant plans for them instead.

McDonald’s confirms massive tests for enhanced drink menu

On May 23, it was revealed that the CosMc’s initiative was introduced to gain deeper insights into the McDonald’s system. Since then, they have acquired a wealth of knowledge in this area.

Based on lessons learned from initial solo venues, unique flavors inspired by CosMc are set to debut at McDonald’s in an upcoming US taste test. These extraordinary flavors will harmoniously integrate with the McDonald’s atmosphere,” they elaborated.

As reported by McDonald’s, they aim to excite more customers by introducing an array of tasty and novel beverages through the creation of a dedicated beverage development team.

Additionally, they mentioned that using CosMc’s enabled them to experiment with “novel, daring tastes” without disrupting the standard McDonald’s experience for both customers and employees.

Instead of shutting down CosMc’s entirely in late June, there are current plans to introduce CosMc’s-style beverages at approximately 500 McDonald’s locations across the United States.

As a die-hard gaming enthusiast, I can’t hide my excitement! The specific drinks for McDonald’s in the US are still under wraps, but let me tell you, it’s a moment worth anticipating.

Recently, various novel menu options have emerged beyond the U.S borders. For instance, Canadians are now enjoying the Big Arch, while Japanese enthusiasts have been treated to larger-than-usual ‘Grand’ size fries and beverages as a temporary offering.
