During a chat with TVLine, Harrington openly discussed his views on the S.W.A.T. spinoff and revealed when he learned about the venture.

Yesterday was the day. Shemar shared some updates with everyone saying, “This is the current situation…” There are rumors that we might hear more about certain matters. He wanted to be the one to inform us first, and mentioned, “You’ll find out from your representatives soon.” It was at this point that I informed my representatives, who were unaware of the information.

Let me make myself perfectly clear. I have been involved in this industry for quite some time, and simply put, nobody is entitled to certain perks just because they’ve invested their time. If that seems to be the direction they are heading, I wish them nothing but success. It can sometimes be a thin line between feeling entitled and keeping an open communication channel. The studio simply informed us that this is the path they want to take, which unfortunately means a clean break and a fresh start. In such a situation, one can only respond with “Good luck!” However, what I felt was a slight disappointment was not being acknowledged in their announcement at all. That momentary setback was quickly overshadowed by my reflection on the eight years of hard work I’ve put into this project.
