You Can Try Switch 2 Wheelchair Basketball Game Drag X Drive Next Month, But There’s A Catch

A brief demonstration of “Drag ‘n’ Drive,” the Nintendo-created wheelchair basketball game, is set to be released before its official launch in the coming month.

According to Eurogamer, as reported by Nintendo Today app, the “Drag x Drive: Global Jam” event is scheduled from Saturday, August 9 to Sunday, August 10, spread across three time zones. Owners of Nintendo Switch 2, who have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, will get an early opportunity to test out the online team-based multiplayer mode prior to its official release on August 14.

The three sessions will take place at the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, August 9, 3 AM to 7 AM PT / 6 AM to 10 AM ET
  • Saturday, August 9, 5 PM to 9 PM PT / 8 PM to 11 PM ET
  • Sunday, August 10, 9 AM to 1 PM PT / 6 AM to 10 AM ET

During the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation earlier this year, it was unveiled that one of the internal games being developed by Nintendo is called Drag ‘n’ Drive. This is a team sports game played with both Joy-Cons functioning as mice to maneuver the player’s wheelchair. To shoot the ball, motion control gestures are used.

Beyond offers the choice to manipulate the game using a mouse for aiming. Regarding third-party games, both Cyberpunk 2077 and Civilization 7 provide options for mouse control.

Instead of being sold physically at higher prices like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, Drag x Drive is exclusively offered digitally for just $20. You can now pre-order it on the eShop.
