You Can Now Buy Movie Tickets In A Video Game

As a long-time fan who grew up watching Tim Burton’s masterpieces, this collaboration between Warner Bros., Roblox, and Beetlejuice is like a dream come true! I remember the first time I saw Beetlejuice back in ’88; it was a wild, eccentric, and utterly enchanting experience that left an indelible mark on my childhood.

As an avid fan, I’m thrilled about the collaboration between Warner Bros. and Roblox! This partnership allows us gamers to purchase tickets for the upcoming Beetlejuice movie right from within the game itself! The new Roblox experience, “Escape the Afterlife,” offers a unique opportunity where we can visit a virtual Fandango box office and secure our tickets to the film. What an exciting way to blend gaming and cinema!

For the first time, users on Roblox can now purchase movie tickets directly from within the platform, according to a recent press statement. This move is an extension of Roblox’s ongoing strategy to expand its commercial capabilities. However, only users who are at least 13 years old are eligible for ticket purchases.

“Escape the Afterlife”, created by Sawhorse, offers a chance for players to explore settings and interact with characters from the movie ‘Beetlejuice’. The objective is for players to evade ghostly creatures and save other characters.

Those who buy a ticket will get an exclusive Beetlejuice-themed avatar.

Cameron Curtis, marketing chief at Warner Bros., mentioned their goal with this campaign is to introduce Beetlejuice to new groups of viewers who might not have watched the initial movie. Given that the first Beetlejuice film was released in 1988 and Roblox mainly appeals to younger audiences, it’s safe to say a significant number of people haven’t seen it yet.

I can hardly contain my excitement as a gamer! Mark your calendars for September 6th, because Beetlejuice is back in theaters across the US! Yep, you heard it right – Michael Keaton once again steps into the iconic title role, and so do Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara. But there’s a fresh face joining the crew, too: Jenna Ortega will bring her charm to life as Astrid in this much-anticipated sequel!
